I get where they're coming from, being some schlub doing milk runs and offing grannies in old people disputes for a dozen hours wouldn't be very fun, and the game is long enough as it is. But if they cut out a quarter or half of the gig-tier jobs, Watson having by far the most, and had Jackie tag along for them I think would have satisfied most.
Let's see, aside from the prologue, we have the scav raid, the flathead, and the heist proper with him, which is what, three missions to get to know and mourn a guy who outright tells us he's not going to go back to being poor and gets his wish in a way he never intended?

You spend more time getting to know and sympathizing with Takemura than you do Jackie, FFS.

the worst part is all of the implied friendship you get is from the intro cinematic:
you don't get to play and actually build a rapport with jackie in order to properly "mourn" him.
You spend more time getting to know and sympathizing with Takemura than you do Jackie, FFS.
takemura does make it clear it's all business and if you do the arasaka raid with rogue he does get really fucking uppity, killing his friend too is another thing that gets on his panties but game wise it's pretty much impotent rage as you are still a important asset for him, if you get yourself cured he only shows up as request and is his usual anti-foreigner, all of the entire emotional thing that V does in the game is so shit and disconnected, a streetkid V would instantly clock that takemura is being a fake ass bitch, a corpo V would respek the biz and a aldecado V should be the one "familia" dialogue you normally get when you meet him again.

god fucking dammit, i just got worked up by nooticing this, CDPR fucking half assed the game so bad trying to ride on their witcher 3 credit but it's not even 40% of what TW3 is.

CDPR fucked up because they didn't do with Jackie what RGG did with Tachibana and Rikiya, which is spend half of the game to make you give a shit about the character before the dramatic death scene. With Tachibana and Rikiya I actually cried, but with Jackie I just sarcastically commented on how little I gave a shit about his character when they tried to pull the same shit.

And yeah the main critique people have is that all the shit you were meant to do in those 1.5 years with Jackie is just a cutscene when it should've been an entire set of fully fleshed out quests. Thing is that CDPR made their money back within hours of the game releasing and they do not give a solitary fuck about their game. Remember how the CDPR forums would permaban anyone saying anything remotely critical about Cyberpunk? Yeah.

People wanted Watson to be longer? I thought the complaint was that the prologue sets up bullshit expectations, not that it was too short. To me at least, it sounds like the dev is strawmanning an argument and acting indignant when people have no idea what he's going on about.
To me the prologue was fine but the montage should have been a series of playable missions where you actually play as V instead of being cucked for the rest of the game.

Exactly. Play through some of the shit we see in the montage. Let the goal be to do enough gigs to get V an apartment of their own and then once you do, bam. We pick up where we do now with the Sandra Doresett rescue.
Could have also been used as the tutorial missions instead of having that gay ass virtual training with T-Bug literally right before you get out of the car.

Anyone else really enjoy the music from the game? Specifically the Samurai tracks by Refused are all bangers, The Ballad of Buck Ravers, Never Fade Away, Chippin’ In(the Kenny Eurodyne cover is the superior version.) A Like Supreme is one of my favorite missions on each playthrough(S-S-SAVAGE THE NEW MACHINE.) I’m less enthusiastic about the pop-style tracks, but I still stop and listen to I Really Want to Stay at Your House every time I hear it playing out around the world.

The music in the game is great in general. The tracks fit so well into the setting. I'm particularly fond of these ones

Lullaby for you- Nina Kraviz, Bara Nova

Gr4ves and Clipboss- Johnny Gr4ves

Pain- Le Destroy, The Red Glare

Kill Kill- Le Destroy, The Bait

Major Crimes- HEALTH, Window Weather

Violence- Le Destroy, The Red Glare

Likewise- Ratboy

Hole In The Sun- Raney Shockne, Point Break Candy, COS & Conway

Kill The Messenger & Resist and Disorder- Cartesian Duelists, Rezodrone

With Her- Ego Affliction, Steven Richard Davis

Anybody else kinda get a bad taste in their mouth with The Devil ending? I mean, after going through the entire game and DLC with a V who had the general attitude of "look Johnny, you end up getting more done by working with The System than from burning everything down and hoping something better emerges from the ashes" (I mean look at Kerry working with Us Cracks!, FFS), my reward is an ending where I ineffectually yell at Arasaka's board of directors before they're all murdered anyway, the whole thing with Yorinobuends with his personality getting overwritten by his father out of nowhere , and Alt doesn't even make an appearance while Jackie is basically just a bunch of pre-recorded lines from early in the game.

I mean...the fuck?!

what were you expecting going with the corpo ending? a satisfying ending?

I--fuck, I was expecting to be able to continue with the theme of generally doing good by people--I thought I was helping Johnny make peace with his past so he could fade away without regrets, and Kerry ended up partnering with the "soulless corp scumbags" because their sponsored JPOP idols really liked him (though I did help him trash his manager's yacht),

Fuck me for trying to see the sunshine through the rain, I guess.

I honestly liked The Devils ending, as it shows you how truly scummy Arasaka is and gives you a closer look at the Arasak family relationship.

The rebellious Yorinobu’s plan to rid evil crumbles to dust and surrendering because V and Hanako brought back Saburo thanks to soulkiller (Saburo’s twisted idea of immortality). If you pay attention to the family relationship you will notice that Hanako is so much worse than Saburo.

You won’t see Cunningham because V is supposed to be the proxy to help her infiltrate.

Finally, Jackie appears in the devils ending when you send his body to Vik’s clinic where Arasaka takes away his body. Why? To use soulkiller on him and have his engram spill info but Arasaka gained nothing with a faulty engram as it was already too late.

And fun fact, Takemura was going to do the same to you as a way to show proof of Yorinobu’s patricide.

Cyberpunk’s fanbase is fascinating. You have your based chud types but also your woke troon type, an each camp has their own interpretations of cyberpunk in how they want to see it.

The ‘based chud’ types will view cyberpunk as an eery commentary about the dangers of multiculturalism and hyper consumerism. (See Cyberpunk 2020’s excerpt on “diversity”)

The ‘woke troon’ fans will interpret cyberpunk in a communistic manner: le capitalism bad, le corporations are le evil. Etc etc.

The game manages to actually strike a neutral ground to me. Having played 2077 for close to four years, and hundreds of hours later, cyberpunk does not portray the anti-corpos as good guys; they are just as evil as the corpos and resort to terroristic means to crush a system that will always win… somehow. (Johnny Silverhand, the most infamous example).

It’s bleak, dark, but real. Cyberpunk glamorizes nobody. It’s truly a dystopia perfected in digital art form. At least to me.

Truly prophetic.

Randomly found this while looking up "R.E A L. VR." The creator was DMCA'd by Rockstar a while back because...well, it's Rockstar. Well recently he got DMCA'd by CDPR because of said mod being behind a paywall. Naturally, he could release the mod (or at least the 2077 version) for free, he instead removed it entirely and stopped production because he would rather the project die than go free, he then proceeds to cry about how CDPR's "iron-clad corpo behavior" while ironically being more greedy than they are.
It violated their TOS and he wants to play the victim, people aren't letting him do that from what I've read, such as this plebbit post.
Hope this is formatted ok, phoneposting since I can't get to my PC right now. TL;DR yet another mod creator being the most unreasonable, faggoty retards imaginable.

Devil's ending is the bad one. And the first you unlock if you don't any of the side content.
Sun is interesting if you let Johnny take your body in the final phase, thus viewing the Temperance ending.
Sun is better playing with the secret ending and keeping your body. Hands down.
Star is the another interesting ending.
Those endings are open to headcanons. Too much interpretation. That's why my favorite ending is the Tower.
Tower is basically you finally healed but at the cost of all the cyberimplants. Begin again basically.

I remember my brother talking about the endings to me when he was playing it a few months prior. He told me about the tower ending, which caused me to look it up, and God damn that ending is dog shit. It genuinely irritated me despite my lack of investment in 2077. Then again I think most of the game is so I'm not suprised.

Got another one for you, even earlier.
"Bigger the population, the more minorities. Don't step on the toes of the dog lovers, the cat lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs, Mormons, Baptists, Unitarians, second-generation Chinese, Swedes, Italians, Germans, Texans, Brooklynites, Irishmen, people from Oregon or Mexico. The people in this book, this play, this TV serial are not meant to represent any actual painters, cartographers, mechanics anywhere. The bigger your market, Montag, the less you handle controversy, remember that!... Authors, full of evil thoughts, lock up your typewriters. They did."
"We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal. Each man the image of every other; then all are happy, for there are no mountains to make them cower, to judge themselves against. So! A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach men's minds."

Pain is a fucking tune.

I have to hear some later then, it seems I only heard the meh ones.

The point is that Keanu wants to play the role again, mocap and everything, because he enjoyed it. Actor things, sometimes it really clicks for them. The real challenge will be writing in a sequence where he can play Silverhand in full.
No, the real challenge will be to yell at him as often and as loudly as it takes for him to use more range than "laconic drawl" and occasionally "angry for a few lines". My take on Johnny was that he was a passionate man in life who ended up incredibly frustrated with how Night City hadn't changed a goddamn bit since his final performance--and now here he was, shackled to a young idiot who couldn't see the big picture and seemingly only cared about climbing to the top of a mountain of shit.

It was only with the benefit of time and V's obvious dedication and commitment to seeing things through that the two began to agree on things--and assuming they didn't cross the fatal line of turning over the Relic to Arasaka, he was perfectly happy to go off with Alt into cyberspace and let V have their body back (for as long as it would last, anyway).
