Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Ok this is schizo talk. And i don't care. I care about the product, not the people, or the theoretical future people that don't exist yet but will SURELY ruin my fun 5 years down the line.
With that mindset everything is shit already because its tangentially related to some SJW adjacent girl who decided to color her hair for a month.
I think i even posted that exact thing earlier, people keep inventing stuff to bitch about because they are schizos waiting for the inevitable apocalypse that is just around the corner, just count the red cars man, they're everywhere.

Seriously, talking about "danger hairs" is eerily similar to gangstalkers talking about red cars on the street trying to ruin their life.

Care about the product don't follow mindlessly a company. Companies change and you've seen it time and time again. And it's not schizo, I'm just telling you those are always the first signs of a company going the retarded woke route, nothing to do with schizophrenia. That's how it went down in marvel & wizards of the coast the moment you start seeing "sjw adjacent" or whatever you wanna call it you should start getting suspicious, when the "harmless" changes start happening then you should be worried more (it's just changing the pronouns, it's just making the women more realistic, it's just adding more diversity) because it means you're months away of getting a preggo main character beating the patriarchy.

It's the same shit with the e3 presentations that don't show gameplay, delaying the release date or shit like that. They are signs that don't necessarily mean the game is gonna be shit but they should make you wary of what they're doing with the game.

I'm a big fan of evaluating the work on its own merits rather than people who made it, also as much as i like to speculate i can't in good conscience prophecise doom based on tangential evidence that might or might not exist (see pic above, i dont see any trannies in gimp outfits or anything).
Its the same train of thought as "women ruin everything", i'm nowhere near jaded enough to accept that yet, especially when its getting disproven from time to time.
The product might be different than advertised, might even be worse but ill still evaluate the product rather than my expectation of it.

That's fair, I can respect that. That being said don't expect the bad actors to come out in gimpsuits and start talking about taking cishets scalps, that's not how they operate (not in starting stages).

Yeah i know, i was exaggerating. For the record i don't think looking for secret red spy among dev teams is healthy either.
Regardless, that's not what my issue is, i just don't like when people make unsubstantiated claims. Around this game there have been plenty, and sheep on forums just mindlessly buy it every time. Yeah, i get where you're coming from somewhat, just be careful not to go overboard on that thinking, its really harmful.

I don't look for em, I just see weird shit I am cautious about the game. I ain't getting fable 3'd again sir.

They also smugly said that the game would never have microtransactions and multiplayer.
I can't find any articles where CDPR claims they won't be doing a multiplayer or mtx for the multiplayer. I did find a 2018 Newsweek article where they mention Cyberpunk 2077 will not ship with multiplayer, but that they have a multiplayer game in R&D that may or may not be related to Cyberpunk.

Also, there will only be mtx for the multiplayer. Singleplayer will have the same post-launch support that The Witcher 3 had (large expansions and free smaller bits of DLC).

Well, for me, I noticed one of the recent trailers had a couple sexy chicks shaking their asses in my face at what seemed to be a strip club/brothel, that sorta stuff is repelling to soc-jus types due to "muh exploitation" or whatever the fuck other reason they're bitching about between dilation sessions.

Hmmm, not necessarily. Sometimes it's EMPOWERING as well.

I think it depends on the locale and the sexiness of the chick. If she's conventionally attractive, she must be a victim of human trafficking. If she's a great fat pink-haired she-walrus, it's stunning and brave and challenging the patriarchy.

Well, check the trailer yourself and see what they look like then. The strippers are neither fat nor ugly as far as I can tell. Fuck, aside from shitty hair styles none of the women in this trailer look all that bad TBH, no obnoxious uncanny valley(aside from the excessive cybernetics on a couple of them, but that's more of a body-horror thing, if you ask me) bullshit that I can see.

When I did the main quest I accidentally skipped ahead and ended up having to back track like an entire ark. They kind of relied on the soft level gating to stop you from doing things out of order rather than something not stupid, so I hope they fixed that in 2077. That is probably my main complaint with pacing there. They really have to go all in on the sandbox thing and figure out a better way to pace their levels if they're going to have static levels for the main quest, or have levels that arn't just "You curb stomp anyone lower and every mook two levels higher than you is basically a boss fight". The way the Witcher 3 did it meant you're supposed to go to a certain point, clear out all the side quests at this point, then advance down the main story once your level gets higher. That might be why some people feel like it drags on for longer. If you skip the side quests and try to muscle down the main questline without them you'll be under leveled and run head first into that soft cap. You're encouraged to run down every trail you run across rather than saving them for later with this layout. If you wait until you finish a certain point in the main quest and come back then you'll just roll over the targets rather than having fun with it, the reward is static and thus inferior to anything you have, and you have to backtrack to some place the game just kinda assumed you where done with.

I think the way they've described leveling and how combat works sounds cool, where you can take enemies out quickly but can also die real fast as well, making it more tactical and hopefully avoiding the issue of enemies being a pushover at lv. 10 and omg boss fight if you take a suggested lv. 12 quest.

I think it's kind of showcased a bit in the gang segment of the last preview. Two Maelstrom gangers are murdering a guy and the chick smacks V with her gun and puts him into critical health while the 2nd enemy shanks you and you flatline. Its really quick and probably edited so it could be missing footage where it shows them getting a few more shots in because dying in 2 hits does seem a bit nuts unless you're insanely outmatched (which is a possibility). But, in another segment from the weapons showcase they show V mowing down like 3 enemies with an HMG in like 2 seconds.

I dunno if it'll actually work to fix those issues by doing things this way, but I think it looks fun at least and I can't wait to blow dudes apart in fun ways!

Welp, back to Deus Ex 1 for me then.

God, can we have just ONE good first person cyberpunk game that doesn't have danger hair bullshit in it or current year politics? I wanna fight cyber-terrorists and the Illuminati again, not "TOTES NOT DONALD DRUMP" and strawmen "Alt Right Oppressors".

lol, calm down. There's nothing like what you posted about here in the game so far as I can tell.

I dunno, the list posted a page back and the images recently seem to be going towards that direction. Call it a semi-educated guess or something. I've just got a bad feeling this one is gonna be more woke shit.
The Cyberpunk genre tends to always be on the edge of being a woke paradise, at least in theory. What prevents it from going over the edge, at least in my opinion, is the harsh reality of society brought about by the potential horrors of transhumanism and corporations becoming the governing body rather than, at worst, influencing it.

You probably will see woke-ish characters, but they, along with other freakish and normal characters, are just cogs in the corporate machine. This isn't Star Trek, a future society where a good chunk of the human population could get behind its Utopian lifestyle and goals. This is Cyberpunk.

"Cyberpunk heroes aren’t trying to save the world, they’re trying to save themselves.” - Mike Pondsmith.

I thought Witcher 3 was too long, we didn't really need the snowy islands area, it was actually a huge struggle for me to be able to see the game through to the end.

Sometimes less is more and a shorter, tighter experience that you can replay more is better than a bloated game you'll probably only be able to give a full playthrough once.
Skellige was fine. The issue was how long things kept on going after you got Ciri back. In terms of pacing it was like playing one BioWare game to the end and then backtracking all over the same places to assemble your team for the big battle but then wait, that isn't the big battle because you have to do more team assembly for the next big battle. Its like you did the entirety of ME1 to start with, then the ME2 and ME3 main quests in short succession afterwards, all as part of the same exact game. At least you can just fast travel without needing to physically fly the Normandy places. Cutting out the Kaer Morhen fight and leadup to go right to the prepwork for the final fight at Skellige and the resolution of the Nilfgaard/Temeria/Redania hate triangle would have been a hell of a lot smoother and more enjoyable.

I've said it before and I am again now, the old DnD style RPG mechanics have no place in a action game. If you progressed to far into an area the devs don't want you to be, the punishment for it shouldn't be that your guns are too weak or you die in a shot or two. You should be gated because you haven't unlocked the tools necessary yet, like hacking proficiency or you have a genuinely shit arsenal. And if you still want to bash your head against the wall, sure, you can do that, but it requires thinking outside the box.
