I really don't think they can actually delay it again though. Hard copies are in warehouses. They'll probably be sending out copies to reviewers now if they haven't already - indeed some googling indicates that this is the case. They aren't going to send it to reviewers in a state that they wouldn't want to unleash it on the public in, and rumours are that the review embargo lifts this Thursday, a week in advance.



Hmmm. Once again, it seems that there are fewer ambient NPCs on the Xbone / PS4 than on the XSX / PS5 / PC. If you go back to the Xbox footage this is clearly visible where it switches from Xbone to XSX in the middle of a bar an when it's on XSX there's significantly more randos standing about. That implies there's an ambient NPC or crowd density slider in there somewhere.

So, what do we think the review scores will be from various GARME JURNALIZTS? My predictions:

- 10/10 IGN - because they never fucking play anything and go entirely on marketing payola
- 6/10 Polygon, RPS, Kotaku - because they have to be contrarian and also CDPR won't bend the knee to Woko Haram and also the Chromanticore ad.
- 90% PC Gamer because Bathtub Geralt and because it won't be as good as W3, we know that for a fact
- Jim Sterling will refuse to acknowledge it exists or use it as a springboard to bloviate about MUH CRUNCH.

I can see Kotaku and Polygon going even lower since this looks very very unwoke with the violence and sexualization. They'll really freak out if the leaks about V being raped are true.

I’m not surprised about that, considering NPC work has always been on the CPU to do.

And nothing of value would be lost. Also, @EmpireOfTheClouds this game is going to be an absolute mess on launch from a technical perspective. I say that as someone who is genuinely optimistic about this game and thinks it will be really good gameplay and story wise. Witcher 3 was a masterpiece and it was buggier than a whole trailer full of tweakers on release day.

I keep hearing this, but it totally contradicts my own experience. When I first got W3 on launch day I had an i5-4690K and GTX 970. So upper end but not overpowered gear. I didn't encounter all that many glitches apart from sometimes the grass looked off.

Of course, I can't speak for console players. I suspect that given this only just works, most likely, on standard PS4 and Xbone, that's where the biggest meme bugs will be found.

I think it is true, but partially. I suspect it'll be in some sort of braindance rather than actually getting their anus reamed out. They'll have to go into a braindance recording of someone being raped to find a clue or something like that. Screeching will ensue.

Oh they definitely will refer to it being too hard. They will use the phrases, "and that's a good thing" and "skill wall," I guarantee. I also expect negative comparisons to TLOU2 because it doesn't have play it for you mode, sorry, accessibility options.
 
My only worry is that my 1080 won't be good enough for it on release day.

EDIT:
Also there will be endless bitching from journos about some insignificant shit about how it hurts troons or women and is responsible for literal rape and suicide.

Something something in-game ad bad because sexualization of trans bodies. If they still grip onto that shit from a couple years back, I can imagine a few will still hold onto it as something for them to screech about when the game comes out.

Watch this get us the second DMCA from a video game company this month :story:

The console version continues to look like utter ass, which seems par the course by now. Maybe the PC version will be better (:optimistic:)
