Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

  • 🔧 Actively working on site again.
No Mans Sky is actually a good game now.

The jury is still out on Cyberpunk.
Since the game is already "finished", fixing bugs in less than 10 days is impossible.
And i mentioned NMS for the initial release, when that was a glitchfest too. At least the people who bought the game was awarded.
I'm sure in Cyberpunk's case they gonna do the same shit as Fallout 76. Mark my words.

I don't think comparing this to something like No Man's Sky is fair. The problem with what we saw tonight especially wasn't the bugs. Yeah, they were hysterical and, as someone who played Skyrim and New Vegas on PS3 on day one, worse than any other major release I've seen; but that's not the big issue. The real deal is the awful witting, terrible combat and scaling, a sub-Vice City open world, and totally irrelevant RPG mechanics. Poor Mike Pondsmith must be spinning in his early grave so fast he could drill diamonds for fuck's sake.

These aren't things that can be fixed in patches. This isn't a psuedo-MMO like Fallout 76. This is a done, finished single player product. Deus Ex and Fallout were carefully built over years to make sure their gameplay and world blended seamlessly. You don't spend hundreds of millions of dollars and years working on something like that only to go "whoops" and start cutting the unfinished parts to make the release date.

Here's my advice for the CDPR kurwa who inevitably gets stuck DMCAing this thread: management should have fired the project directors years ago. This shit got too big, too fast, and with no clear vision. The result is a game that's massive yet empty, with hackneyed gameplay to glue it's disparate ideas together. Whoever was lead on this isn't a rockstar, and they sure as shit weren't competent. Next time consider cutting them loose before making the biggest embarrassment of the last decade.

That stills means that:
- The patch addressing these issues is gonna be swole as fuck
- It's gonna take longer than expected to get started (unless you risk starting early)
- It's likely still going to have bugs
Oh absolutely, def not making excuses, honestly the package retail side of games is antiquated as fuck. Like when is the last time anyone went to the store to buy a new release movie or album? It's both the first thing you see and the worst aspect of the industry in terms of delivering the product.

They also shouldn't have hired from failed studios in fucking Montreal of all places.

They shouldn't hire dangerhairs, period.

If I was running a business, anyone with those stupid alternative hair styles, a shitload of shitty tattoos, etc would have their resumes thrown in the goddamn trash.
But then you'd have some commies with a stick up their asses shoving bullshit regulations down your throat about how "You have to have at least X mentally ill people working for you"

It looks so damn ugly... The Characters, the Buildings, the Cars, everything looks like something cooked up on the crunch with little thought on how they'd look when put together as one.
Does the studio use fucking pigeons to communicate with one another? Someone commend their PR team for their hyping skills, then fire them for bullshitting so much that even if the game comes out alright, it'll have failed to live up to expectations.

Is Projekt Red just a polish version of Ubisoft? No, the French can at least deliver a product.

I got lost on why people got excited for this in the first place. It appeared out of nowhere with a mountain of hype.
  • It's full of sex? Wow, never seen that before. Stop watching porn and go have a hobby.
  • Genitals? Who fucking cares besides trannies? Lol big dick lasts for 2 minutes.
  • Running around doing side quests in an open world game with mediocre combat? Woo wee that's unique.
  • Story's supposed to be good? The best vidya stories are still topped by books, go read one.

On a lighter note.

ResetEra is at it again with its whacky hijinks!
