Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

DLC will probably take place in pre-2077 Night City set around the Cyberpunk Red timeline. That's how I'd do it.

Doing it your way would make it automatically better than the base game given the character your controlling isn't someone else's meat puppet, so that's not going to happen.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a game to have better endings than New Vegas. Even Obsidian can't catch that lightning in a bottle again.
Especially now that all they seem to be working on is an open world survival craft game. Who even came up with that? The market's really saturated already and I don't think anybody goes to Obsidian for that experience.

I think it was a huge mistake to make him a large part of the plot. I get that he's Mike Pondsmith's OC and a part of the setting, but you're honestly trading out Geralt for an NPC who you can't get rid of. Its still not really your story and more of a part of Johnny's plot, you just get to choose how Johnny ends. You're barely a consideration. That's not what an RPG is all about.

The shitty endings are barely original. Two of them are you just becoming a meat puppet, one of them is you dying and the other is just you leaving. Wow, so awesome. Fucking Fallout: New Vegas still has the best series of endings. How do people keep failing to top that? Its hilariously incompetent. If you wanted Keanu to have Keanu be a main, just make him. Don't tease us with 'this is your story! oh btw the main plot revolves around this dead asshole'.

And stop fucking trying to please the trannies, holy shit. I am tired of these companies bending over backwards for 0.1% of the population who will never touch what they sell.

Yeah, they have the grit and didn't feel like they needed to overcompensate with it. The endings are all fake edge and eye-rolling bullshit.
Arguably, Silverhand is CP2k77’s Geralt- a character with a predefined history, relations, and motives. The problem here is that it seems to be conflicting with the concept of the player-defined blank-slate V.

As such, it does feel like a compromise that could have been more deftly addressed, by relegating Silverhand as more of a companion rather than a central driving force. Alternatively, they could have also dropped all pretenses around this ever being a RPG and chosen a pre-defined Cyberpunk character as the protagonist (doubt they could afford Rockerboy-Reeves) for the entire game.

That being said, I oddly enough don’t mind these endings in theory, but I’m going to have to see how they’re written first.

Also, crackpot theory- I feel like the female audience may actually like the Silverhand-taking-over-you concept, if the whole Far Cry 5 fandom (simping for a cult just because of the 50 Shades overtures and hot dudes) can be extrapolated...

I feel like if CDPR were going to grovel to a female audience they should've just bitten the bullet and made Keanu fuckable. Braindancing is a thing in this verse so it wouldn't have been too much of a stretch - plus it would've made for an interesting conflict. Fem V falls in love with this dude that exists only as a chip in her brain and as part of that path she manages to extrapolate the chip and put him in a new body or some shit. I don't know.

I do know that a big question shortly after the E3 2018 reveal was whether or not Johnny was romanceable and they shot that down pretty quick due to his relationship with Alt Cunningham, though I'm not sure why they even bothered anymore due to the fact Johnny apparently takes over your body at one point to go on a date with Rogue in a sidequest. Sure sounds a Hell of a lot more interesting than any of the other options we know of so far.

Girls and guys cream over Keanu, apparently. Or maybe just Redditors.

My question now is - if the game is successful and with the endings already spoiled - how the hell are they gonna implement DLC into the story? With any major AAA game nowadays it's a given due to those sweet, sweet shekels and if your character dies in the end and you can't continue the game what other choice do we have besides starting a new one? How are they gonna sell DLC when we all know full well our character's fate so what's the point in even buying/pirating/playing it?
In Fallout3 you die in the end of the main story line, but if you have DLC you are miraculously get dragged out and resurrected by the Brotherhood of Steel, so if they want DLC they cant pull a bigger ass-pull than that.

If this game would be published in late 90's it would be trashed compared to Fallout series or Planescape: Torment. Even Syndicate from early 90's had more depth than this crap. This is how expectations have lowered since then and how casual players have raped and left the bleeding anus of gaming industry behind.

Technically you'd be accurate. In a way, this would be what wokeism might look like, if left unchecked for a few couple more decades.

"Demolition Man" is another example.

I mean they have an "oldies station" where they play nothing but commercial jingles. That'd be peak consoomer.

That movie is actually brilliant, and definitely deserves a rewatch. It's becoming frighteningly accurate.

Best lines in the movie, and I agree, frighteningly accurate.

What? Are the collectible dildos not edgy enough for you?
I can confirm, collectible dildos are in the game.

We know it was remade from scratch at least once. There was a 33% completed early last gen game (meaning Xbox 360/Xbox One and Ps3/Ps4 release) that got completely fucking scrapped when the team was all like, "Oh shit. This isn't going to be out in time for current gen consoles! FUCK WE GOT TO BUILD EVERYTHING FROM SCRATCH FOR NEXT GEN AHASHAHGAGAYSHSHFU!"
Source on that?

Source on that?
I'll have to search through some old youtube videos. I believe YongYea dude reported it. Give me a sec.

We heard about it the same time we got the info that a lot of the employees were complaining about crunch.

Found this for the Michael does life thread
Holy shit, this game might need a month of patching

In her review, Polygon critic Carolyn Petit draws attention to in-game advertisements for a drink called Chromanticore. In-game advertisements for the drink fetishize trans bodies in a way that relegates them as "the other," treating them as both exotic and "sexy."
Oh, so Carolyn Petit is behind that controversy... That explains everything. He saw that the 3D model in that fake ad looked like a woman so he's reminded that he will never pass as a woman.
