Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

River Ward, an NCPD ex-cop. He gives you a couple of missions, one of them has to do with rescuing his nephew AFAIK.
Damn it, I was hoping Victor was a romance option.

I haven't gotten far enough to actually romance anyone(not that I really care much) but the impression I'm getting is that the romances were implemented kind of poorly. They hyped up Judy and Stout but didn't say anything about the men, almost like they forgot that they needed male options. The romances honestly just don't really feel necessary.

Which is a shame. I'm a fan of stupid romance branching, but if they're done poorly then you may as well cut them out completely. Also heavy feels on Victor not being an option. I adored him the moment I saw him in the gameplay.

So what? We have like a total of 4 options then?

In other news, checked out the "pussy" ending where you just say fuck it and take off to Arizona. If your character romanced Panam at all it makes for a very fulfilling scene and ends on a somewhat hopeful note that the chip will be taken care of. Doesn't really feel like a pussy ending at all after seeing it.
Sounds a lot like the original Blade Runner's theatrical ending.
Makes you wonder which finale CDPR will go with as canon for the inevitable sequel.

Judy, Stout, River and Panam so far. Apparently they've said there's one strictly lesbian romance and one strictly gay romance, so there's at least one more man. I've heard that Judy will also sleep with Male V so maybe there's another woman too?

CDPR could've solved this problem by just confirming all the romances before release.

So I managed to get a hold of a torrent that unlocks the GoG preload from InsaneRamzes. Got both the preload and the unlock from btdig.

I'm only a couple hours in on hard, but the game's fine. This whole thread has been overblown imo. Gunplay is fine, and the actual amount of times I've been involved in a gunfight has been incredibly minimal. The art-design is on point imo, and the music fit's very well. Might not be into the heavy synth and saw house music, but it's written well imo and fits into the theme.

The bullet sponge enemies aren't a huge problem (yet) and the melee combat plays well enough. This is all subject to change as I push on of course, but I think so far all the complaints have been nothing but autism.

The RPG side of things is lacking so far, but there has been plenty of choices I could have made in the beginning, I just don't know what actual impact they have aside from dialogue.

I have run into some glitches and fuckery, but nothing gamebreaking, although I'm expecting to at some point.

It's not perfect, and certainly not worthy of the amount of hype it's gotten over all these years, but it's a fine game. Like a better FO:NV. Solid 7/10 after a couple hours. Game unlocks in like 2 hours, so just go pirate it and try it for yourselves. I'm probably gonna buy it when it goes on sale.

Can we stop derailing the thread with autistic comparisons to F:NV? One is actually a good game and another is shaping up to be AAA cancer so there's no comparison.

"This shit isn't my problem. I'm out" seems like a very straight forward and good ending to me.

Never used BTDig before, so wouldn't know what to look for.

Here's what I know about the romances so far:

Characters that can only be romanced by FemV:

  • Judy (f) - fully lesbian. Anybody that told you BroV had a chance with her is a dirty liar.
  • Ward (m) - ex-NCPD cop who hires you for a couple of missions before taking you out on a date to ask whether or not you want to pursue a romance with him.

Characters that can be romanced by either gender:

  • Stout (f) - short romance, treated more like a fling than anything.

Characters that can only be romanced by BroV:

  • Panam (f) - cute nomad, definitely the best looking option and has the most charming personality. Not sure if the good ending with her is locked behind lifepath or not, but I know you can get the good end with her as a Street Kid. So maybe this game just has a grudge against the corporate origin because corporation bad.
  • Kerry (m) - I know absolutely nothing about this man except he's supposed to be the token gay LI for BroV. Apparently, nobody else knows anything about him either.
TL;DR: Save yourself the trouble and just go bang all the prostitutes in the game if you're so eager to get your virtual dick wet.

How engaging would you say the game is?

Lmao, they did the Dragon Age Origins romance options.
11 fucking years and nothing new

So there is a day one patch after all. Doubt that it'll fix the game, but we'll see.

And it's taking a long ass time to download compared to the preload.

You are truly the bait master. I bow.
Bethesda games suck without even acknowledging the aborted fetus that is the Elder Scrolls series. Fallout 1 and 2 blow any of the other's out of the water. NV was the only one that tried, and even then it played like ass. Was a better RPG then CP2077 is so far, so I'll give it that.

How engaging would you say the game is?
Depends on what you're looking for. I think the story is pretty interesting so far, but I avoided spoilers so I don't know what happens or how it ends. By how people are reacting in this thread, seems it's pretty divided. With what I've done so far all the dialogue feels like it's done fairly well. At the very least your character say's different things instead of the shit FO4 did. The city feels smaller then I expected, but it's dense and there's a lot of stuff to do. Most of it is garbage, but the bigger stuff like the Side Jobs are pretty good.

Imagine paying $60 to get teased and cockblocked by a fat lentil haired art director who wanted gay representation and not allowed to fuck the only attractive romance option in the entire game.

It truly doesn't get any more faggy, this pisses me off endlessly. I can feel the self-righteous grin of the unhappy hippo in the yellow shirt through the screen.

Literally subversive conditioning to make you as a man "learn your place" and "respect her choice". Fuck CDPR, fuck this game.
