Communist cocksucking and Soviet idolatry is just another symptom of the ideological shift to the far left that is endemic within the game development. There is barely any ideological diversity anymore and if there are people that disagree with this type of rhetoric, they don't last long in the company. I first noticed this outright unapologetic and unironic USSR apologia back in 2012 when playing Borderlands 2 where "Vladof" branded guns were adorned with "Hammer and Sickle" iconography, it makes absolutely no sense for the context of a far off futuristic shooter in an alien planet to have it nor does it make any sense having this type of "lore" in a cyberpunk game.

It is rather sad and ironic that this filth has infiltrated a Polish game development studio of all places.

I tried playing on hard, but Journalist mode is more fun because I can actually kill an enemy in one shot.

Yeah I started on hard, but the tutorial enemies took like 5 bullets to the face to put them down. Plus my pc is dying so I'm playing on ps5, and while the ps5 controller is light years better than the previous ones for fps it's still awkward for me compared to a mouse. So I bumped it down to normal, now the tutorial enemies only need 4 bullets to the face to go down.

IDK if it's true, but it makes sense to me - during the prologue so many people clipped through the scenery while pathing I was beginning to think they were supposed to, as if it was an aesthetic glitch like when you skip dialogue and the screen distorts. They stopped doing it after I finished the prologue though, so maybe it's just during that? It does seem a fuck load less scripted now I'm in the main game.

Looking around it seems a lot of other people are having a similar with the game hard crashing at the same point multiple times, but everyone else seem to all be crashing in a different spot to me. They are all at least getting control before crashing at a specific trigger, while I literately can not get past the first 5 seconds of intro animation.

The game crashes because your CPU isn't AVX compatible. There's a nexus mod that you can download that fixes it.

It would be pretty cool if there will be a game where the devs tie in the amount of bugs to how much cybernetic enhancements you have. Like you literally see the world through the eyes of an insane person.

Fun fact: there reason boobs are clipping through their shirts is that there's only one size once people put their shirts on. Your boob size does not affect anything one you put a shirt on.

Even then it's really just a case of really bad design and implementation. Making clothing meshes compatible with the body meshes, even in systems where you can modify every part of the body to your liking is something that even Skyrim modders have achieved to some degree, so it can't be that hard for AAA -level studio with over 1000 employees to manage. Or at least it can't be an excuse for them.

For those making the soy jokes, Shadowrun and a ton of other Cyberpunk properties predicted that soy and tofu would replace real food as cheap alternatives. Its part of the dystopian hell vibe, where all food is fabricated and you can only get the real thing if you're rich. Its basically just happenstance that it come to align with current jokes about soy.

Their modelers suck. Just that simple. You're going to get the equivalent of Diamonized bodies for Skyrim and such eventually.

It is already pretty successful. This is undeniable. Stock markets are full of boomers who don't understand reviews don't matter. They don't follow this at all, they just glimpse at their broker telling them reviews were mediocre and they shit their depends. They have no idea the reviews are judging it over tranny dick and Jap representation. Once the sales figures come in the stock will shoot back up again because people who play the market are basically impulsive degenerate gamblers. Cyberpunk 2077 basically crashed Steam simply from its launch. It still has over 700k people playing it on Steam. On a Thursday.

Of course this isn't a mark of quality.

There's a news story about flooding in the Netherlands, and it's causing a bunch of refugees to flee to Scandanavia. You know this is a fictional world because Sweden is deliberately sinking the boats. The fluff about animals being extinct in Night City and how shitty the tap water is shows how fucked up the world is too.

Was there any indication of any impending issues in Night City itself?

TBH, a slow decline into Third World conditions (tap water, soy food, violence) hardly feels all that shocking or urgent nowadays due to media saturation, unfortunately.

That's pretty much what happens in the game. Johnny Silverhand, or at least the version in your mind, is just as bad as Arasaka and is trying to draw you into his dumb scheme to get revenge on them. The ending where you walk away isn't so much about being selfish and letting the world burn as it is about realizing both the corps and Johnny are fucking awful and playing into their schemes is a bad idea.

This has been quoted in the thread before, but Pondsmith himself said "it's not about saving the world, it's about saving yourself." I've decided I'm going to adapt that mantra and choose the "this isn't my fucking problem" ending when the game is patched enough for me to consider giving it a try.
