I may try this by micro grinding actual coffee. basically, run it through the grinder and then further hit it with a mortar and pestle. Big problem is a course grind is not meant to dissolve completley.

It seems alot of work to make this taste decent though. There is absolutely no getting around the instant coffee taste without obscene amounts of sugar. And I dont like any sugar at all in coffee

I actually made this today, it was quite delicious. I was kinda surprised at the taste, it tasted nothing like how instant coffee and milk normally tastes. it was almost like a slightly bitter toffee.

very foamy, would recommend. I even did it with a whisk. with how hot it gets in the summer where I am I may just keep drinking coffee like this.

Alright, so following @The Real SVP link, I noticed I made a mistake in using cocoa. Chocolate will not help anything foam, so I tried again using the same method in the page and got a much foamier coffee. I'm storing it to drink later.

Edit: It was a success! A bit too sweet for my tastes, especially at the beginning. When it hit the mílk layer, it became much, much palatable. I wouldn't recommend drinking more than one cup per day or daily.

I don't have fancy tools like a mixer or even a wisk. Would a fork work?

I'm still really digging this in small amounts on ice cream. I'm running out of instant coffee though since I only had some for a mocha cupcake recipe I made. I'm wondering if a iced Vietnamese coffee/Dalgona coffee hybrid could be work.
