The headlock thing seems to be coming from the defense, most other reports don't mention it. It's annoying to wait but we really need to see the videos ourselves since witness statements and initial reports are all going to be a bit unreliable.

His attorney is arguing that there was a headlock. But from the cops and cameras that have actually witnessed the event - nothing has collaborated that outside chud and his attorney just making shit up.

I am too tired to link sources right now but I'm enjoying the good faith conversation. Part of the problem is we have to rely on inconsistent reporting to find out what was really said in the hearing. I would point out that your quote is a quote from a reporter's article. There are a lot of reporters writing a lot of articles about this, and they don't all say the same thing. It would really be nice if we could just watch the actual proceeding. I believe the cop who watched all 12 videos and took the stand "couldn't recall" whether there was a headlock or not. He would have been an experienced cop working in an investigative role, and he would understand all of this and more: he's on the stand to answer questions from the attorneys. His answers are evidence, in the strictest technical legal meaning of the word. His job is to buttfuck the evil racist, not to help him.

Which brings us to the defense attorney, who has already established that he is at least a bit of a lefty. The one thing you can take to the bank about this guy is he is not going to lie for chud, he won't muddy the waters for chud, he won't pull a single dirty lawyer trick for chud. If this guy is asking the cop about a headlock, there was probably a headlock. The fact that the cop said he didn't recall is telling. He's an investigator, he watched all 12 angles of camera footage, and he can't remember if there's a headlock? This is cop for " well yeah there was a headlock, but if I say yes then I'm creating good evidence for chud, but if I say no I'm perjuring myself, so I'll just go with the good ol' safe 'I don't recall.'

This all smells so bad that I bet there will be a request for a Franks hearing about it at some point.

Where are you reading such detailed accounts of the court's proceedings? Everything I find is frustratingly vague. In any case it'd be a stupid thing to lie about, since the judge will be personally observing the same materials to determine their admissibility in court (and, after that, they will be presented to a jury). You might as well simply state what you saw, since the persons interviewing you will be watching that very same piece of footage. It's possible the officer knew his words were being recorded by reporters and offered a vague account of the video's case-sensitive details to avoid any claims of jury bias later on.

Yes, he still continued to practice free speech despite knowing there was a good chance he would be attacked for it.

It's not at all like he wanted it to happen. It's like he was willing to have it happen, if the price of it not happening was to surrender his and everyone's right to free speech.

It's like saying Martin Luther King Jr must have actually wanted to be assassinated because he "knew there was a good chance of this happening and he still went with it", so his assassin wasn't really to blame at all and should be set free.🙄

Yeah but it wasn't an innocent prediction, was it? You make him sound like Jesus Christ having premonitions of being executed for proselytizing in the town square. It's not like he merely held a taboo opinion on race, or had a lifestyle disagreeable to his fellow Americans, and was tragically burdened with the knowledge that the public would avenge his noncomformity with savage mob justice. He would deliberately enter confrontations with individual blacks and call them niggers. It was purposeful; pissing blacks off was part of his stream's business model. It wouldn't exist without that. The mere fact that he approached those blacks with his camera out proves intent to provoke, especially when combined with his Twitter posts.

He quite literally wanted it to happen, he practically was begging and preparing for it. Have you seen his streams? He keeps pepper spray and a handgun on him and escalates the situation when the other person gets mad.

It's like saying someone someone didn't want to grab something out the oven and possibly get burnt. Then why are you wearing oven mits? Its almost as if you expected to have to grab something hot and prepared for it.
