I think it depends on how many videos are videos Chris himself made, versus just phone calls. We might need to host the phone calls elsewhere, but Chris' own videos can go back up on youtube. Maybe preemptively contact support to make sure they're on the up-and-up.

(The thinking is that they might say the phone calls are cyberbullying or some nonsense. But the stuff Chris made himself is probably OK.)

Edit: The reason I say "how many videos...", is that if most of the videos are phone calls, then it's not really worth it to split the collection across two sites. But if most of the videos are Chris' original content, then it might be useful to put those videos on youtube (and keep the phone calls elsewhere), just because youtube's widely supported.

Chris has a claim to copyright infringement on any videos he's made. Now, in the past he's attempted to redress this by making new videos with screaming threats, which ironically would then become new additions to the Library itself. But at any time a slightly smarter white knight/troll could explain to him how to actually get them taken down under that rationale.

I am so incredibly glad that people are doing everything they can to get the videos back online.
It's very sad that the channel got taken down for it was a valuable piece of internet history. Whoever is responsible for this knows no shame.

It wasn't copyright. It was content.

Depends. If it was because someone hit the channel with a bunch of DMCA takedown notices, then it could be put back up if the channel owner submits counter-notices. If it got taken down because YouTube decided it wasn't family-friendly enough however, not a chance in hell.

I definitely think it's worth appealing the ban but in the meantime is it worth somebody creating a CWCVille Library back up Youtube profile and trying to re-upload all the content over the years? From what I can remember the CWCVille Library has had a lot of videos removed or called under question during the years, maybe it was closed due to a culmination between that and the recent flaggings.

Also perhaps more neutral titles under the videos could make it look less like 'cyber bullying,' maybe just taking Chris's exact description and video titles could help with that.

Yeah, but I'm just laying out where some potential pitfalls might be in terms of possible takedowns in the future. I guess it's probably less likely that Chris would flag the videos on copyright than a ween would flag them on content, though.

Also it's standard to notify the target of a DMCA notification.

Not all copyright notifications are DMCA, though.
 
My first post. Generally a lurker but this DEAD SERIOUS! :evil:

I always dreaded this day might come, but I guessed it would happen from the Tube Channel's owner getting tired of archiving Chris' antics or getting a change of heart and deleting the archive. Still, putting all these proverbial eggs in one basket was never a good idea.

Here's a list of the select CWC videos I had saved. Let me know if there were any that no one else saved and I'll upload them onto youtube for linking. Sorry if the image shrinks to where the text may look tiny. http://oi65.tinypic.com/fcp6it.jpg

Could anyone try using the .torrent from the archive and confirm that that it only contains two vids? Because that's all I'm seeing and unfortunately the DDL is slow af.

Edit: Nevermind, Marvin mentioned that in his original post.

Question: What's a good filesharing website? I'm not familiar with their use, but my archive is a little over 5GB overall and I've only been able to find websites with a 200MB limit.

Also, I noticed on the Internet Archive page for the CWCville Library that there are two options under all files: "Torrent" (which, as we've established, has only two files) and "HTTPS." Is there any way to download all of the files under HTTPS at once instead of individually?
 
something tells me chris found the channel and got upset and complained and flagged what he could because he didnt want people to know the truth about his past . but that just my theory
