Recently, a writer for the show gave a private talk to select students at my university. They told us Season 4 is all but confirmed (which we're supposed to keep secret, whoops) and that the writing staff already has ideas about the direction the show is headed in, though I don't think the season's in pre-production yet. They sounded optimistic about Season 4 airing sooner than one would expect, but other details they gave us seem to contradict that.

Namely, the fact that Harmon has approached them to work with him on a separate project. Roiland might've done the same, but I can't recall - the writer talked a lot about knowing and collaborating with Roiland prior to Rick and Morty and being close to him, but after awhile the details bled together. In any case, the fact they knew Roiland first but Harmon developed a particular interest in them was interesting to me.

So I'm curious to see if any evolving conflict between Harmon and Roiland will be, not only about creative disagreements, but also about which members of the writing staff are willing to jump ship with who. I don't know if Roiland's the type to give a fuck about who's "loyal to him" as much, but Harmon definitely is, so... hm.

Funnily enough I can't find any mention of Weinstein or any of the other current Hollywood sexual harassment scandals anywhere on Harmon's twitter. You'd think that since he's technically part of those circles and all his recent grandstanding about needing to have "talks" with other men about this sort of thing that he'd have something to say about it.

But I guess Dan's only interested in speaking out against sexual harassment when it gives him an excuse to shit on republicans.

Not to keep harping on the subject of Harmon's ex-wife, but it's interesting to note that she's a redhead, and a lot of the women that the two main characters of R&M have shown romantic interest in have also been redheads.

It costs much because apart from the outside animators, the entire rest of the team (storyboarders, character designers, writers, directors, sound designers, voice actors) lives in LA.
France animation works with the same korean companies, but their cartoons still cost much less because, well, Paris isn't LA.
Animation is always very expensive, and it'd be even more without collaboration with canadian/korean animators, but a thing that'd help with funds is to not have your studio and team in fucking LA.
