You know they are trying so hard to distance themselves from the bigots that they claim not to be. Like Lindsay Ellis only dating minorities, talking about having a minority student living with her every second week (I haven't seen nary a peep about her new b/f so he mustn't be a minority she can use to score points with) constantly talking about how racist her home town was, etc etc....
I mean what are these people? I wonder if they have any substance at all.

I don't know of any evidence it was planted. From what I gathered 8chan had a global rule against posting CP, the owner claimed that flagged posts were deleted within an hour on average. They had a /pedo/ board for self-described pedos to chat about gross things. The board also frequently posted clothed jailbait photos and kids in swimsuits. Which is creepy as hell, but legal.
Dan Olsen reported that 8chan was a den of child pornography, and as "proof" he downloaded a bunch of pics to his computer and included a screenshot of blurred out thumbnails on his harddrive. Assuming the blurred photos were actual CP, then he committed a felony. But the 8chan community matched up most of the blurred thumbnails to their source images and revealed that they were kids in swimsuits.
So either Dan broke the law by downloading a bunch of CP as "research", or he downloaded a batch of legal pics and claimed it was pornography for the sake of his article. Anyway whether or not 8chan ever had CP was irrelevant, they still got delisted from google and kicked off Paetreon as a result of SJW petitioning.
Gamergate also threw a fit because Dan's main goal of the article was to associate GG with the /pedo/ board, because there's also an (almost-dead) Gamergate board on 8chan.

It was, at least on the board Olson got it from. The board was created and the images uploaded to it by Laurelai Bailey, founder of the SJWiki. Here's the proof:

Since it's more or less their way of backtracking, it makes it all the more funny to see how they try to dig themselves out of the hole when archived and tweetsaved post are brought to light, complete with their name.
Wouldn't they all be more or less the same anyway which leads to us mixing them all up?
As for Dan Olsen himself, the picture of him shown in the first post, his mug does give off the look of a wannabe-intellectual hipster. In all seriousness, him trying to download CP to blame 8Chan is pathetic in of itself. He dirtied his hands just to get rid of something he didn't like and Butts made things worse for himself by trying to play white-knight.

I.... just can't understand how these people work, they just appear to consume whats in front of them from their "approved sources" and regurgitate it back out to their social media feeds. It just boggles my mind, how do they even function? Shouldn't most of these types of people be on disability? Surely they must have some sort of psychological issues that are unaddressed.

Perhaps, but it's a group of people who you could assume have psychological issues that are unaddressed, that have an audience of other untreated people and possibly normal people in there too. It's kind a kind of terrifying thought.

Marilyn Monroe, Ellen Page, Jenna Jameson, and Judy Garland were dykes.
The creative endeavors main reason for existing is to allow people to walk around as things other than themselves. If "it's fiction" is your defence for "all fiction should hold to socially responsible ethnicity and sexuality quotas, not to mention my list of pre-approved moral lessons" even though you've presented zero evidence for how this causes any sport of real problem for people, it's just as good a defence for creators ignoring your Sarkeesian-happy ass.

Dan made a "game" last year called Resist. It's one of the most pretentious goddamn things I've ever seen.
This is the main menu with the only instructions.
Here is the game itself. All you can do is either walk to the right or stand still. Walking causes both meters to decrease. Standing still causes them to increase. The background music is mostly a bunch of droning tones.
If you walk long enough to get the entropy meter low, the game starts spawning things in weird places.
If the entropy meter gets really low, the game starts spawning a bunch of intentionally glitched objects. The framerate of the game plummets and eventually locks up your browser. I'm not sure if it's possible to get the entropy meter to zero because the game always shits the bed first.
If you stand still long enough to fill the ennui meter, the character disappears, and you get this screen.
I have no idea what the hell Dan's trying to convey with this, other than "look how fucking deep I am."

That's exactly what he's trying to say, "I'm a deep guy, so deep you don't even get this" that is literally the point of it, if you pressed start game and it just played a video of him sucking himself off, it would be the exact same thing.
