that's why the ending was like that. so they would stop associating the game with irl self-harm and noise from media. but its trve. danganronpa serves for violent teens actions for despair. Some go for attention, instead of despair, though.
 
Sorry for necromancing but recently the games creator, Kazutaka Kodaka, made a joke on his bluesky page that the Danganronpa 2 character Nagito Komaeda wasn't someone he could be seen shipped with a woman, which might(?) be Kodaka implying Nagito is gay??

Anyways the fandom has been going insane over this, lots of gorls who ship themselves with Komaeda are getting angry over this. I'm trying to find some more piss about it but the most notable thing I can find is a rant made on Archive of our own (ao3) of all fucking places instead of just twitter/tumblr (mind you, AO3 is a fanwork/fanfiction website and angry rants about a character's sexuality are absolutely out of place on that site)

Unfortunately it got deleted before I could archive it BUT here's some snippets I was able to find,

Have they not seen him in UDG? They are extra sick for wanting to ship themselves with him after his representation in that.

From the looks of it, it seems pretty polarizing. Lots of people agree that Nagito is gay but a lot of people are angry he isn't bisexual, because then that means the poor poor fujoshi femcels can't self ship!!! I really wish I could find more spergouts but I can't be bothered.

A long time ago I went to of Homestuck meetup group in my area, back when both Homestuck and DR were yuge. I was new to the area and trying to make friends, but instead got sucked into the exact kind of immature, stinky, drama-filled group of people I’m sure you’re all expecting. It was very “2014 Tumblr” dashcon vibes. Anyway I bring it up because one of the organizers of the group was a crazy bitch who had beef with the organizers of a local Dangan Ronpa meetup. One day they “accidentally” scheduled their meetups at the same park and it led to a girl dressed as Gamzee spraying bottles of Faygo at the other group resulting in everyone being kicked out of the park. I stopped going to the meetups after getting repeatedly propositioned by that same Gamzee. It’s wild that an entirely new generation of fandom acts exactly the same.

Just stumbled on this thread. I had zero clue that Snow the Salt Queen--the woman featured in the OP sitting on top of the tomb stone--fucking killed someone. What a proper retard, assuming that a gun is loaded is the most basic gun knowledge. Back in middle school my girlfriend used to bully her when she was just getting started, small world.
