I had...some hope when I watched the Olive Garden shitshow. The cop appeared to be interested somewhat in finding out just exactly who these Redditors are. He looked at Dan's phone and asked questions.
Don't know if the court has done similar, or if he's ever been offered non Bob Proctor support resources while flipping in and out of the clink, but, really, police, and the court, ought to spend at least a little time sussing these people out since they're the ones putting him up to most of his antics.
Hell, IDK if Dan's even been reassessed by any entity. He should because his functioning is low, which qualifies him as a vulnerable individual.
As a case manager myself, I'm bound to mandatory reporter laws even though I work bums, freaks, sex offenders, felons, weirdos, and drug court to aid in the client finding employment. Still counts because some are tards and some are mentals and some are a little of everything.

But I don't know because HIPAA also factors in. No, case managers aren't medical workers necessarily, but many (myself included) have access to files and case notes from their PCP, drug court, psychiatrist, and IEP's in the case of a high schooler who graduated or will age out at 22.

What gets me the most: There was also no plan for when Nancy passed away.
Bob just picked up the slack due to the fact there was NO ONE willing to help Daniel. also no one who COULD help Daniel.
I do wonder what they thought they were doing with the living placements he was in. The other tards was around seemed more with it then he is and one of them was low functioning also. Daniel should have been placed in a group home ASAP. I still am in awe he has legal rights over himself.

From my experience as a HS teacher both in mainstreamed, self-contained, and therapeutic:

Dan should've been set up with a transition plan as early as 3rd or 4th grade. In my state, at least, this is recommended for starting one. The child should have a rough one ready by 7th grade because resources are that scarce and waiting lists are astronomical.

IDK, but I'd be curious if Dan was receiving professional support services pre-Tennyson--Speech and Language, OT, life skills, adaptive PE, school psychologist, etc.
My local district these days has a full service clinic on site at one of the high schools.

I assume Dan had an IEP, but there are a lot of schools where that's all they could do due to Chris Chan Borb denial. Can't amend an IEP without parental input and support professionals.

We have a children's home in the neighboring city--it's an intensive home unlike the SPED group homes scattered around the city for both teens and adults.
The residents are sometimes (not maliciously) referred as "body bag kids" by teachers and support staff. That means low to no function:

* Needs to be tube fed
* Needs to use lifts and other assist devices to change clothing and diapers
* Cannot walk
* Non verbal; relies heavily on story card use

And other things that go with that. Dan isn't that low functioning. He can walk, talk, "listen", feed himself, shower/toilet himself (even if he has to be tard wrangled to do it). But my overall opinion is that professionals (more than one) REALLY needed to sit Nancy down and STRESS to her that she can love Dan all day long, but in order to help him function and thrive, she needed to "let go" and have him placed in permanent residential care in a group home.
He would've had his transition plan with frequent updates. She could have visited him, and most important, Dan would've had a shot at learning and mastering some of the social codes in polite society.
Now he can't.

I'm not a Burger, but I've worked in the care sector in my country and I've dated social workers involved in tardwrangling so this is something I know a bit about. I can't imagine that the American system is very different in terms of the political realities surrounding it, even if the legislation is probably very different.

Nobody gives a fuck about speds once they're not cute any more. Disabled kids get visits from pro wrestlers and get to be on the news for their fingerpainting and "inspiring" stories that politicians can pretend to care about. Adult speds can get fucked. If you threaten to cut funding for retarded kids you'll have a swarm of angry blue-haired mums throwing rocks at your windows. Cut funding for disabled adults, especially if they're just retards? I'm sure there's a million different plans and guardians and advocates and all sorts of things they're supposed to have in the States, just as there are in my country, particularly when someone looked after by the state as a child becomes an adult. But in reality there isn't the funding for that and nobody gives a fuck. There's no votes in adult Dan, and people accept retards being homeless if they're ugly enough. An ex of mine worked in a care home for retarded adults. In theory there was a very specific part of the need spectrum that that home specialised in, but in reality the entire system was so underfunded that they would jam any old retard wherever they could fit them. People not retarded enough for the home or people too retarded for the facilities or staff training would just be shoved there because there was a free bed. And of course those patients would cause absolute chaos and disrupt everything. You can't prepare a mildly retarded dude for applying for jobs and teaching him slowly about how rent and taxes work if you're called away every 30 seconds because the naked baboon the higher-ups shoved into the next room is trying to rape the therapy cat again.

As a society and culture we have this weird expectation that when people turn 18 they're suddenly magically different people, even though all of us who have lived through that transition ourselves know it's bullshit. One of the big lies they tell to children is "you'll understand when you're older". Well I'm a lot older than 18 and I still don't understand and neither does my dad and he's in his fucking seventies. But someone with the mind of a 5-year-old is suddenly expected to look after themselves because they drooled their way into the world 18 years ago to the day, even though they haven't developed mentally for over a decade and never will. So now we have the Dans of this world wandering the streets, completely unequipped to deal with the normal challenges of the world, let alone being gangstalked by Redditors. They need the same amount of help and support that they did the day before, when they were 17. In fact they need the same amount that they needed when they were 5. But they can go fuck themselves. And of course it catches them all completely by surprise. Everyone cared about you yesterday. Now nobody cares at all. And you're so stupid you can't tie your own shoelaces, how the fuck are you supposed to understand that? You don't. So you get mad and smash things, because you're fucking 5. Then you end up in jail, because the judge sees an adult body there.

He got kicked out of the group home on October 16, 2022, so Daniel has been homeless for a year.
