The nuke prank was done by Oxis and he has admitted that was a bad look. I do however think, out of everyone, he's done the most positive work for Dan. He was the one who arranged the shield housing that happened over last summer. Oxis now seems to mostly try to get Dan out of his delusions when things get really bad - but has mostly given up because Dan is not receptive to anything that goes against his delusions and Oxis not really being able to ultimately do that much.
Then may he walk into his own demise. At least they can still give us a good laugh. On the bright side, lolcows can act as a cautionary tale for all who strive to become famous on the internet.
Daniel has been to mental hospitals (allegedly) multiple times. Obviously doesn’t do anything and like what the other guy said, they aren’t long term.

I agree with you on the asylum part but it will never happen. The cost of care for people like Daniel is exponential. In many mental hospitals it costs upwards of 150k per psych patient a year. There are hospitals with just several hundreds patients which cost tens of million dollars to run. It's just too expensive to keep insane people in hospitals anymore. Daniel will most likely die of an infection on some street corner.
I don't really understand the self-righteous anger that comes out of the Daniel Larson reddit (This is what you sound like). It's counter-productive for him to be out on the streets and getting trolled 24/7. Let's say he's genuinely a danger to children around him. He should be getting help for that, not trolled and convinced that Grace VanderWaal wants him to go cross country and spit on random strangers. pl: my dad is severely schizophrenic, perhaps worde tham daniel and despite everything we can't even get him on 72 hour holds. he can dump gas all over his house and try to blow it up, stab himself- as long as he isn't bothering anyone else nobody will take him. no options for long-term care. daniel isn't a unique case, perhaps a bit goofier than average, but there is no system in place for someone like him, and there's thousands of people in the same but less visible positions. you can't blame a tard for being tarded, nor their families for struggling to manage them- the system is designed to fail them.
