Yeah, notice how Daniel always talks down to people, even Bob, like he is the adult and they are children. Watch the video when Bob tells Daniel to get out of his car and Daniel says "No, I am not going to do it" and it sounds like a mother talking to a five year old, he does the same thing whenever people ask him to leave a restaurant for not paying, he talks down to them and even tells them "you're fire". This is how a brat who was spoiled by his grandmother acts, he then picked up on how parents talk to kids in public and went for that power play.

I think the hitting himself until he bleeds may be something he picked up in the group homes. We know he was kicked out for fighting with others in those homes, I am guessing that whenever he bullied someone there he would then beat himself up and run to the caretakers and say the other person beat him up or tried to rape him and this worked one or two times so now whenever he gets in trouble with a waiter or security guard it is his default power play.

I have to wonder how well all this is working out for him in the loony bin, does he spend all day hitting himself and demanding to be let out or is he so doped up with meds he just lays in bed all day not knowing his own name?

Remember he claims to know where she lives and he some times includes her in the death threats when he gets kicked out of places, he will make videos where he threatens her and Bob. I don't think that any sort of external "tip" would be necessary to prompt a psych evaluation in someone like Larson. Listening to him speak for only a few seconds is more than enough to conclude that he has severe mental problems.

It matters for formality reasons plus since Larson is mentally ill, the lawyer is required because Larson is mentally unfit to run his defense. Plus, a lot of states curb abuse of the "I'm mentally incompetent to stand trial" defense by saying they will put you in an asylum and force you to get better or better enough to be put in trial.l

Yeah, he was supposed to have a reevaluation in late 2024, but it got canceled after both sides agreed he was still incompetent. He’s currently committed to a mental facility under federal custody and will stay there until he’s deemed fit to stand trial. No new court dates have been set since then, and it’s basically just a waiting game now. The legal process is completely paused until he shows signs of improvement.

From what @AnOminous said, after his reevaluation which I think was last month, they would reevaluate if he could be brought to the level of competency needed to stand trial, and if not, then to basically dismiss the charges but keep him a permanent resident in a mental-care facility, basically writing him off to be irreversibly nuts and in need of "management" for the rest of his life.
