There seems to be an issue with Daniel where if you show any sympathy for him it means you are a pedophile sympathizer or some other dumb shit like that. You can feel sympathy for bad people. That's a normal okay thing to feel. Daniel was basically fucked from birth. He had no chance at a normal life.
This argument keeps going in circles. I've said my piece which is that Dan's paedophilia is a result of pumping a child's mind full of testosterone, and then expecting a retard not to act on urges that his brain is not equipped to handle. Dealing with Dan is more like dealing with a wild animal than an adult human.
I think it's too easy to get hung up on the question of whether Dan is "Bad" or not, that depends on whether he has agency and without peering into his mind we can't know that for sure. I don't think he does but I might be wrong. Rather than asking an unanswerable moral question of "Is Dan bad?", we should be asking a practical question, which is "Is Dan a danger to children?" The answer to that is unequivocally yes. Whether you see him as a monster humanity created or fully evil, he needs to be kept under close supervision and away from kids.
I'm a utilitarian. Paedophilia is wrong not because there's an inherent immorality to wanting to fuck kids, it's wrong because fucking kids (or grooming them) causes them incredible harm and suffering. Molested children suffer for a lifetime and often become severely screwed-up adults who perpetuate cycles of abuse. Paedophilia harms all of society. That's scientifically measurable, and has been measured over and over again. That's why I get so mad at the current trend of trying to justify it on the grounds that being against fucking kids is just a "social construct" and a subjective social norm. No it isn't, paedophilia causes objective and measurable harm to individuals and society. We have to stomp on it wherever it appears and never, ever, relent.
I think the Feds bit off more than they could chew with Dan. They were expecting an easy conviction against a schizo, what they got instead was a brain-damaged adult with the mind of a small child who will never be fit to stand trial, and now they have to work out what they're going to do with him. They can't let him go, they can't put him on trial, they can't put him in genpop. Looks like the Feds have accidentally become the care home that Dan needed all along. Dan is removed from society, kids are safe from him, Redditards are BTFO, glowies get to suffer. Funny how things work out sometimes.
