At this point, DSP is benefiting more from these a-logs than they are damaging Phil from covering him. He maintains a steady stream of ironic viewers, OIC tips, and "it time go" retards who feel emboldened to be loyal to DSP. It makes it impossible to take the "detractors" seriously when they perpetuate the very thing they decry.
My prediction is that the Joon the King documentary will canonize Phil as a perpetual online figure. No one who currently donates will be deterred by anything Joon says, and he will gain a new influx of ironic viewers, liter retards, and attention hungry whales who will sustain him forever.
It's going to reach a tipping point where these a-logs look insane for bemoaning anyone and everyone who throws money at Phil, like the unhinged hate towards that Waffins dude from Kino Casino's audience. Several of them donate to Phil via socks to bait him into going on rants they can clip for their content anyways. Grifting hypocrites
Phil will always have ironic supporters, it's been a thing well before most of the current re-streamers and the like ever started following Phil. It's been debated to death whether Phil would just burn out completely if everyone stopped covering him/we shut down any discussion of him. Some of the more dedicated number crunchers even included how much Phil was making from "troll" donations and it ultimately ended up being a relatively small amount in the grand scheme of things, and this was back when Phil had a much larger viewerbase and it was easier to get free bits from watching ads on Twitch and stuff to own Phil by being the 8th person that day to call him or Leanna fat.
As for damaging DSP, if anyone is trying to do that, they're definitely fighting a losing battle. I don't think the people who cover DSP are trying to take him down, they're either shitposting in video form or clout chasing. But like Phil, they aren't pulling in normie viewers who just happen to stumble upon their content, it's people who already know who Phil is.
More serious types that don't cover Phil every day and just release a video about him, like Joon, are exceptions. But I also don't think they have a particularly big impact on Phil. I imagine a lot of the normies who make it through those videos are amused about DSP, but probably won't go on to follow him, either in a positive or negative way. They're largely watching videos to hear about weird internet oddities/drama. I agree it won't stop dents from supporting Phil, but again, I don't think that's the point.
Phil will always be his own worst enemy when it comes to detractor content. He drives away more viewers and donators than any detractor ever could. We used to "joke" that Phil's streaming career will never end because he had an endless cycle of whales coming in. But I think that stopped being a thing sometime around the switch to YouTube. Maybe even a little before then. Don't get me wrong, Phil is far from dying, but his luck stat has dropped a few points from his early days. Now, instead of new whales discovering him and latching on for whatever reason, he's reliant on a very small pack. He's lost a lot of loyal dents and he has significantly fewer smaller supporters. He can definitely get by on that small audience for a few more years, but it seems very unlikely at this point Phil will ever get a new whale.
