ALT's name comes from the fact he used to spend years in near-isolation teaching English to Japanese students in glorious Nippon (Assistant Language Teacher). He used to have podcasts going on and on about how he used to be so depressed and cripplingly lonely from the isolation, and look at him now. He's showered in praise, adulation, and attention daily because of his reputation for talking about Phil Burnell. It's not all that surprising that this whiplash has damaged his psyche; Phil will live rent free in his head forever.

I'm convinced it starts when a person copies Phil's mannerisms "as a joke". Use of language influences thoughts, which begets action.

Restreaming Phil enough does fuck with you, but there are definitely enough people who make a passive income from it to do it more. I'm not of the opinion that you can't profit off of Phil's misery, but there's definitely a point where everybody gets in too deep and needs a break.

Also ALT is falling into one of the worst Phil-ism, having to fill Phil's dead air silence with something. It's a circle of dead air filling.

I'll appreciate anybody that can restream Phil and make it passable without pausing every 5 seconds, which a lot of restreamers do.

The same way DSP thinks he is a Street Fighter champion, his weens think they are fighting a righteous crusade. They will never take the .32 prescription because they will never snap out of Dentnosis to realize:

What you described is not Fred-like at all. I couldn't give a shit if he makes money for slop or gets free content. He doesn't run an autistic illuminati or get butthurt, yell and cry or run a DSP crusade.

I would agree that currently ALT is almost nothing like Fred Fuchs, but it does raise the question of how much DSP content he can absorb before that becomes a real topic of discussion. He streams 5-7 days a week at about 3-4 hours a pop, plus whatever work he's doing with the pulls, the 24 hour channel, etc. That's a lot of time to be huffing the toxic gas that is the Vortex. On top of that, his outfit feels like the center of the Detractorverse right now, perhaps the most centralized things have been since the SoK. Is it unrealistic to think that someone sinking this much mental energy into DSP and with this much pull could become another Fred? Or was Fred too unique to duplicate?
