Atlus has one video from early on where he wasn’t doing his brrrs and clicks imitating Tevin. The vocal stuff is just a weird choice that he claims is not put on. No one believes him: Even though he’s well-liked among the detractor rank-and-file they ask about his fake speech pattern regularly. He’s kind of fucked. If he sounds normal tomorrow, that becomes its own thing.
Oh and he also bites off Memology’s visual style massively. Like crazy.

Speaking of ALT, he’s clearly making hay while the sun shines. He puts effort in and seems to genuinely enjoy the work. I think he can be very funny—he’s made the sudden, snarled “TIRED OF IT!” part of my lexicon and I laugh every time he does it. He also seems to be a pretty plugged-in parent/husband. Coaches hockey, takes care of the pets, etc.

Ya people here are weird about ALT. I know someone with the same job as him and they work like 10-15 hours at most a week from home for huge money so it's no surprise he can fire up a stream and chill for a few hours most days even with kids. It's fun to just react to DSP saying completely insane shit and chatting with friends while doing so is chill.

I know we all follow the typical DSP antics but the last 6 months he legit produces so much react worthy content that you could stream 8-10 hours a day and not have time to get to it all. He may have honestly said more insane stuff in the last 6 months then he did in the previous 6 years that's how crazy a typical DSP stream is now.

I do find it funny that DSP spend 1% of the time on his stream and stuff that ALT does though. Imagine if DSP setup a channel point thing with a WWE Champion type pull system and leaned into the meme he could make money off of that shit so easily.

It's a fun time for detractors cause there are multiple communities you can join and while they have overlap but they all do it different so I'm not gonna hate on ones I don't really fuck with.

I found ALT a bit weird at first when I started watching TBS but I’ve grown to enjoy him and watch his WPIG Prestream sessions daily at this point. The notion that the community contests TBS runs is just an attempt at exploiting people for free content is a retarded and bad take imo. Nobody is forcing people to make content, and it just makes sense to do fun shit like this to keep community members involved in the experience.

Personally, I think imitating Phil's speech patterns is the most "I was only pretending to be retarded" thing a detractor can do. Speech will affect thought, whether ironic or not, so creating a habit where one screeches out one of the DSP catchphrases on reflex seems, to me, a great way of waddling the broad road down to hell.

Obviously I have no idea what ALT is up to in his personal life. Maybe he's doing just fine- loving husband, great father, good pay for low hours, has a hobby that brings a few extra bucks and makes him a small celebrity on the Internet. But I don't think a man can have his head in the toxic sludge that is the DSP vortex for 30 hours a week and not get sick. I don't think a husband who is openly lusting after women in a public forum is displaying signs of a healthy home life. And I don't think a guy with self-admitted addiction issues has a great metric for knowing when he's over-indulging in things that are harmful to him.

I don't dislike the guy (his streams make for decent background noise) but the data points I'm seeing add up an early stage lolcow, maybe a (very) poor man's Nick Rekieta. He has me very intrigued to see where he goes next.
