IMO Burnell's Flying Monkeys watch the detractor content, and then bring him back the juicier tidbits in the Dentcord, which Burnell then copes and seethes about on stream. I guess this gives Detractors the illusion/delusion he watches their stuff. But yea, I agree, Burnell's whole life outside streaming is fast food, twitter, dentcord, WWEC, checking his own comments and chats on youtube/kick, and as we've seen from May 1st some kind of gooning material. He doesn't watch detractor content; if he did he would watch it on stream and monetize it like everything else.

My favorite political youtuber is a serious, intelligent, and immensely knowledgeable mature person yet as he streams more and more I can see the negative effects of the hugbox affecting him as well; the powers of the ban hammer are just too enticing and intoxicating. People start to have their thoughts funneled with blinders on, and their perspective and counter-arguments become dulled in the specific micro-Overton Window that no person has the discipline to resist when creating their own internet community. IIRC psychologists/sociologists have studied how almost all internet communities devolve into echo chambers.

Eventually they start to project their small hugbox onto the world, erroneously thinking it's an accurate representation. I'm not special/immune either, it happens to everyone. I think of the internet like a drug that has some positive effects and some side effects (especially if overused or misused). But yea, if everyone claps when you sing horrendously out of tune, or do "comedy" by adding the suffix "-style" to a random word, you just might be in a hugbox, and Burnell is the King of the hugbox.
