It doesn't take more than a few braincells to realize that this kind of work has a very short shelf life. Once the AI reaches a sufficient level that all he's reporting back to his bosses is that the AI translation was spot on and no correction was needed that he'll be getting the boot. Sure, MTL will continue to improve with AI (as it has for the last 65+ years), but you're always going to need someone to verify those translations are correct. The most likely scenario is that the industry will shrink around 80% as most translators basically become multilingual editors. I usually don't agree with the sentiment of "as bad if not worse", but in some cases I would understand it.

Simply because:

• Phil is a severely mentally ill man
• Phil gets harassed every day (deserving or not)
• Phil can't help being Phil and doing Phil things
• The detractors make content about how much of a Phil Phil is, therefore they must be aware of their own behavior when they act like Phil
• They must follow their own advice

However, the definition of grifting includes being disingenuous, and most of the detractors I've watched seem very sincere in their dislike of Phil. And it's 2025 - if you can make money on the internet, you most probably should.

There are detractor grifters though, mainly Doody. There's nothing you can tell me that would convince me Doody isn't doing this for money. The entire method and mechanism of his channel is built around maximizing the amount of profit.

It's obvious to me that every time something bad happens to him, it is widely celebrated. Phil is not a good person, so clearly, the overwhelming majority of the people who keep up with him want him to fail and to have bad things happening to him.

And also, when something good happens to him, the majority of people who keep up with him are not pleased by it.

That is, matter of fact, when the most dentractors show up and screech in unison.

This is not a secret or a hot take - the overwhelming majority of people who even semi-regularly watch a doody video would prefer if Phil's life got worse and more miserable.

I will say though that a lot of the actual drama doesn't directly involve DSP that much, it is his aylawgs and orbiters and detractors and fans that are usually the most bizarre. Like the whole lesbian thing. If DSP hadn't said a word about it, it still would've been hilarious but he injected himself into it.

The main exception to that recently has been him actually going on sidescrollers, Kino Casino and that UFO guys channel. If he hadn't of done that his prestreams themselves are hardly interesting.
