Maybe but then he did surprise many of us with a low goal with his last begathon (the Mass Effect one). I'm thinking 1k as well as he just doesn't have the heavy hitting whales that could get him to the lofty 2k heights anymore.

Does anyone else see Phil differently now. He is always been a scammer and a beggar but before I saw him as a terrible streamer that scams and begs. It always annoys me though that he purposefully spouts out absolute nonsense because he seems to think that he knows a lot more then he lets on about any sort of random topic. He's done this about his rainy day fund is supposed to function talk, he's done this about how the game industry should operate and he's done this about how any other content creator even a little bit more successful then him uses incredibly high tech production and editing equipment etc.

In doing so, he gives off the most uninformed opinion about so many things, and his audience mostly eats it up, and his retards don't question it at all because they genuinely take his opinion as correct and factual, despite Phil using no real evidence to back shit up and talk about something with no reference to speak of, you can only take his word for things that happened so long ago and even then he exaggerates the hell out of anything, how beloved he was in the old school arcade days, how top dog he was in his academic endeavours, how great he was at his jobs straight outta high school, despite being made redundant from a lot of them.

His streams are like an entertainment network for special ed kids and adults, and he's the oldest one doing an improvised presentation.

I think the marathon goal will be $5,000, since we now know he likes setting goals arbitrarily high so "failure" can also be a success

He also went on a rant about how spots like the Olive Garden and are absolutely trash, calling it a bastardized version of Italian food. While I lean to agree, DSP is a 40 year old man who has never left the country and has no right to make such claims.

On the other hand, lately he's constantly pointing out that he's getting $2,000 less per month since moving to YouTube. He might be planting a seed for his begathon tips goal with that number.

At least $2k but at one or several points he'll say he never expects this goal to get met and continues designed hint-hints how he'd really love to meet the goal. Regardless of actual contribution, a big white whale appears who's so happy to see Phil, he drops a casual $1k, completely unexpected and not at all connected to behind the scenes schemes.

That's a nonsense phrase, it's not possible for something to be 'behind the scenes' of a payment system. He still can't just admit what he already admitted before that these people don't tip through stream elements and give him money directly. But he also couldn't completely hide it because there was no popup and he checked his phone on stream.

This also absolutely confirms that this goon squad tips before break consistently and Phil just posts it when it is convenient for him.
I have absolutely zero faith that Phil is accurately reporting these amounts. Today was the max tip ($37) to clearly bait the vest goal. That's far too convenient and far too much power in Phil's hands for me to believe he is remotely honest about it.

If this is the case, then his paypigs are more hopeless than we thought. Imagine supporting Phil behind the scenes, and he claims to be in financial danger on his streams, and you continue to send money unrecognized.

Just putting this out there, I almost had an aneurysm with his Sopranos talk.

He was absolutely flat out wrong (ending didnt make sense, ending was whatever you wanted it to be, writers wrote themselves into a corner), his entire chat bar 2 guys were trying to explain to him, then yell at him how wrong he was (Even citing the writers and directors telling him he was wrong, that he is dead and it was intended) and he double downed on his comment.
