David Crane’s Pitfall & Colonial Imagery - A critical analysis

It's "interesting" I guess but are you advocating doing away with that archetype? Because I think you're wrong to feel that way if that's how you feel.
It’s a critical analysis, not a call to action. Anyone who thinks they can “get rid of” an archetype doesn’t understand what those words mean. I make no value judgements, it is what is is, whatever it may be.

Really the only thing I object to are the sensationalist moralizations of Pitfall Harry and Pikmin guy as "Brutal colonizers"

one cant help but wonder what the creators of these works would think of those characterizations.

Encyclopedia Harmony sat inside her detective Agency, when she heard a clamor outside. It was the Kiwi Clam Club. They called themselves that because they got clammy hands when they thought about Kiwis...

What's even the point of a critical analysis except to diagnose a perceived problem and suggest a solution? This is kind of why Critical Theorists of so many stripes are seen as mental masturbators at best and malicious destroyers at worst.

In related news: Someone has stolen the Faggotron 3000 prototype from inventor Musky Gates (the genetic clonespawn of Bill Gates and Elon Musk). He reportedly had it pointed on a local Bob's Big Boy statue because in his words "he always wanted a real gay boy of his own". He then stepped away to order some Double BunBusters from Five Guys Faggots and Fries but when he came back his device was missing as was the antique Bob's Big Boy and his most recent treatise on the Pitfalls of Colon-ialism. He says it's possible that the statue could have transcending space and time to save the world from straight people. Back to you, Mundane Matt the Third.

You're like a child taking apart his parents' appliances. That's what this is. The appliance was working fine. The manual for the appliance was right there, it explained the appliance's workings perfectly well, but you took it apart anyway. Moreover, you're taking all these little parts you pulled out of the appliance and inventing weird theories about what they do, how they work, why they were designed that way when established texts exist explaining components like resistors, capacitors, etc.

That's what this all is. That's all it's ever really been.

Yes, that is called “critical analysis” and it is as you describe, a way of learning and researching. Good job.

Its "Critical analysis" meant to breadcrumb trail the reader to an all-but-stated conclusion. Why else would you Characterize Pitfall as "an uncritical celebration of the Western world’s colonial legacy."

in what ways specifically does Pitfall "Celebrate Colonialism" you said this but didn't justify it any. You kinda just moved on to your next point.

You're a kid pretending he's made some kind of profound discovery by taking apart that appliance. You think you've figured out something nobody else has, or have somehow reinvigorated a stalled train of thought by laying new tracks in a new direction.

Nihil sub sole novum, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and it's perfectly possible to move forward right off a cliff.

Oh, that's what it is? I thought is was a contest to see if each sentence could contain as many unsubstantiated lazy SJW statements a teenager could cram into a poorly written essay before they figure out that Kiwi Farms doesn't operate out of New Zealand.
