Others are taking their cue from gaming tabloids like Polygon and Kotaku who regularly shit on their audience. But they don't understand WHY these tabloid rags shit on their audience. Its why you see their titles flop again and again and again. I'm not talking about good indie devs who make quality products and don't shit on their audience. Because even if your game is good, if you antagonize your audience, insult them, they will just go elsewhere. There are just so many games to buy nowadays that they really don't need to take any of their shit.

They really just don't care and are fundamentally poseurs. Its all about how it looks, not about any sort of quality content or even profit. Its to fit in with this circle of people. Those that are actually trying to make a living doing this are too fucking stupid to realize that virtue signaling to 5 people who won't buy your game isn't going to make you money.

See, as much as the likes of Gallant, Boyd, et al, love to shriek about diversity and progressivism, they want nothing of the sort. Actual diversity means just that - a broad pastiche of ideas and viewpoints from all cross the breadth of humanity as a whole. In such an environment, T-Runner exists just fine and thus a proud fat obese genderspecial TRUE AND HONEST womyn like Mark Boyd can tell their story. However, such diversity also means that a Kiwi Farmer can tell theirs. So can some dude who happens to be white, or gods help you, someone who doesn't agree with regressive leftist politics.

And that's where we get to the real issue.

If there's nothing else you've taken home from my almost three years of discussing the topic, let it be this, friends: The mere existence of things that Social Justice Warriors don't like triggers the ever-loving shit out of them. It's not enough to get a game specifically for them. It's not enough for them to get dozens of games appealing to them while fucking over the initial intended audience. So long as games like Hatred, Senran Kagura, and other games that don't give a shit about political correctness and still do well exist, the crusade will not end. That's the ugliest truth to it: The entire "nobody's trying to take your games away" argument is a gigantic lie that solely exists to obfuscate the fact that, if they had the power, they'd totally do just that.

They lie when they speak of a need for diversity. They want only one viewpoint: Their own - and they want that to be the only option the public ever sees. The hilarious part is that by not shutting the fuck up and going away, they wrote their own death warrant; nerds wouldn't have weaponized their own Autism into what became GG if idiots like these hadn't kept trying to gain a foothold in the hobby and twist it to suit their agenda.

Does Assboy think bipolar aka manic depressive disorder is some sort of identity? It's not "split personalities" or being multiple. It's a form of depression where you have streaks of feeling normal and happy to sudden streaks of deep depression. It can be incredibly hard to deal with and properly treated with medication.

You can't identity as an actual psychological disorder and even if they are self-diagnosing you shouldn't fucking support it David. You of all people should know being depressed is a miserable thing to cope with and shouldn't be wished upon anyone.

It's worse than that, even, Bipolar people have times of extreme euphoria, energy, confidence, etc, mixed with times of utter soul destroying hide-in-the-wardrobe depression., and both extremes cause huge problems for the sufferer. The idea that anyone could defend identifying with such a comprehensively debilitating illness is astonishing.

David would be the first to whine about cultural appropriation. Isn't there something similar for mental illness? It's clearly (if you're not david, anyway) way worse to pretend to be severely mentally unwell than it is to wear dreadlocks as a white person

Part of the reason bipolar people go off their meds is being deprived of the euphoria of the manic phase is acute suffering. This is the problem with bipolar. The worst, most insane part of it is the most enjoyable.

This applies, of course, to people whose actual accomplishments, like symphonies and masterpieces, coincide with their manic episodes, of course.

Dave is an excellent example of what Jim Goad noted about rad fems in the nineties. Words are more important ideologically than deed.
