Leftist infighting/purity spiraling is nothing new, and saying that Animarchy is a fake anarchist is absurd given the very nature of anarchism. I think when he "jokes" that he lost the culture war, he's right. But he doesn't realize it isn't because it's a left vs right thing. It's his particular version of NIMBY neoliberalism that lost the culture war. This idea that the system peaked once Obama got in office, anyone or anything we left behind doesn't matter or will eventually get better with incremental changes, and that attempts to radically change the system are inherently evil and must be part of a grand brainwashing conspiracy.

Everybody talks about politics in abstracts and complex philosophies, but in reality, for most people it boils down to "what works the best to make life better for people." and as it says in the good book, "you will know them by their fruit." If your ideology depends on everyone thinking it's good, but all around them things are getting worse, there's no amount of persuasion or outright subterfuge will fix the problem. The fact that he believes the only reason people could possibly disagree with him is a mass brainwashing campaign instead of, say, "people are more open to these opposite ideas because the ones you purposed haven't worked" demonstrates the exact problem with his thinking.

The way the video ends seems persuasive at first, "the people most susceptible to brainwashing think they're too intelligent to be brainwashed" and there's a nugget of truth to that, since lack of critical thinking and self awareness will blind you to your own biases (he himself is an example) but a problem with it is it's a rhetorical gaslighting trap. You can say that about literally anything.

They have every reason to support what amounts to a birthright system where they get free money and resources which are taken from others that actually created them. The western left has completely abandoned the idea of giving the means for minorities to lift themselves and its straight out promising them riches for the mere act of existing, starting with california giving reparations to blacks despite not being a confederate state.
