What's even worse is that the red head is the student in charge of keeping peace and order and she's a lesbian in a toxic relationship with a student that was on the floor of the same dorm, an alcoholic, was treated like she was suicidal for staying in bed part of one days while whining and has her job because nepotism.
The girl chasing the asian is an attempted murderer (sure he was a rapist and tried to rape her friend but only one person was freaked out and the others treated her like a hero) who Willis lack of understanding of mental health gave her her a split personality that can take over and she dress up as a vigilante that can move lik Batman with Training and being fat

He was a bully back then and I suppose he still is. He was pigheaded and insisted everyone share the exact same opinions of toy robots as him or he'd sic his clique lackeys on you. (One of the main ones was dude named M. Sipher that's currently a failed YouTuber and Twitter NPC.) He and his buddies would scream at children and would dox people that dared to oppose emperor Willis on Encyclopedia Dramatica.
The only thing Willis has going for him is dogged persistence.

For instance, last strip. Joe is basically Willis' id, Joe was created back in fucking 1998 when Willis was still a sheltered fundamentalist christian in his first days at university and his comics were basically about an idea of what university is like informed by raunchy comedies from the 80's.
Back then Danny was the shy, responsible part and Joe was the sex obsessed, fun loving part. Its original incarnation was way more candid and lighthearted.
Of course, come Willis conversion to woke Joe was redesigned as an utter asshole who exists to be roasted by every female, including Willis' autogynephile self-insert, Joyce. Finally Joe breaks and admits he's scared of being a dirty pig sexist and he wants to get better, does he get a redemption? Of course fucking not, what he gets is another roast.

Joyce was a wife-insert during the run of It's Walky! but she is a self insert in Dumbing of Age, he has explicitly said so. Walky was his self-insert during the Walky days. This is an interesting story, so behold, there is a huge sperg incoming:
Willis was a sheltered weird kid who claims (falsely) that his parents are fundamentalist christians out of an Stephen King novel when the truth is that his parents were regular off-the-mill white protestant midwestern parents, veering on 1980's conservatism, who don't understand why their son suddenly hates them.
They certainly did not appear to have any sort of ideological clash with him whatsoever, by the time of Roomies! Willis was virulently homophobic and pussy deprived. He had rather lonely university years, at least early on, and his terrible, horrible, evil christian parents had to drive all the way to Bloomington Indiana and take him back for a long period of time because he had a rather severe psychological breakdown.
On its original incarnation Walky was a clumsy, good-for-nothing lab assistant to a Back to the Future-esque doctor who research aliens (Willis sort of predicted Rick & Morty). It is unclear when Willis started changing his views, this was seemingly mid-way It's Walky! when he has Walky to be an atheist and Joyce to be a christian.
See, Walky is everything Willis wishes he was. He's the anti-Willis. He's carefree when Willis is neurotic, he's popular despite being a slob good-for-nothing, he's, well, he's god damned stupid, I don't think Willis needs to achieve this characteristic. This is an already unlocked trophy. This is probably a trait Walky has that is inherited from Anime.
And now he's black.
Dumbing of Age started as a remake of Roomies! with the specific intent of removing the Sci-Fi elements introduced by the end of Roomies! that gave birth to It's Walky! and integrating the cast created for It's Walky! and Shortpacked!. It was supposed to be a slice of life comic.
Problem is Willis was in a sweet spot during the run of It's Walky! where he had softened a lot of his hardline conservative viewpoints but hadn't yet became a woke crusader. By Shortpacked! (What's with the exclamation signs?) he would spiral down the Tumblr well so hard, and he was seeking Tumblr friends so hard (because he has no real friends) that the comic had enough strawmen to keep the whole of Indiana's farming ground free from crows.
So he decides to remake Roomies! with no Danny, or little Danny (Danny was somewhat how he saw himself back then) and no Joe or little Joe (Joe was perhaps the university experience he wished he had, with girls and sex and booze and shit?) and centered around Joyce and his new amazing technicolor people group of friends.
He sees his young himself now as this little, cute, naive christian girl who is only acquainted with church approved media, who has never, ever interacted with a black person, let alone an asian (indian, muslim, korean or whatever) and who is scared of the big, big world out there. Fuck you, Willis, your parents let you watch Transformers and other 80s mainstream media you love to let us know you watched as a kid, and if you had never interacted with a black person or a gay person until well into your adulthood it has more to do with you than it has to do with your parents preventing you from doing so or your white bread milieu.
Of course, in Willis eyes, Joyce needs some mind-opening! So at some point he decides to retcon Dumbing of Age as a (fake) autobiographical journey into atheism and libshitdom, where Joyce is subject to an hilariously abusive behaviourist treatment where she is punished harshly (via roast usually) for wrongthink and she is rewarded (via lovebombing) whenever she rejects God, or conservatism, or wrongthink in general.
In parallel, and in an hilariously unintended implied relation, Joyce has gone from cheerful, always happy and optimist, light hearted young girl into a cynical, jaded, bitter, jerkass with unironic problem glasses. Just like Willis himself.

I haven't checked the comic out in a long time because of the moralizing, but also how hypocritical it was (He made it very clear his entire reason for putting in social justice was for brownie points, yet if you brought up how bad he was at writing that shit, you were the bigot).
Having said that, one thing I found hilarious was him talking about his mother who was the massive fundie, to the point it caused his parents to divorce while he was in college (In a blog he moaned about it because his brother and sister, who were still at home, got all the toys they wanted while the parents were trying to buy their love, but since he wasn't there he didn't get shit). He said that when he was younger, she had no problem with sci-fi and even enjoyed it herself, then as she got older, she got more and more god-fearing and refused to let her children do anything that might offend the lord, including trying to pull Willis out of a class song of Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" because obviously, the greatest love of all was God's love.
Now who do we know who, originally, had no issue with raunchy humor and race jokes, but then as he got older started to lecture other people about how awful they were? Either his mother's condition was hereditary, or (More likely) he's projecting his own flaws onto a woman who was probably not that bad, but his mind over inflated everything. Though it's clear he's got some huge mommy issues. If you've ever read his stuff, most of the mother characters are abusive, manipulative shrews.
I was going to end this with an early shortpacked strip Willis did where his mother won't get him more than one two and say that was the reason he hates her, but now I can't find it. Oh well.

I cast big, big doubt on his account of what his mother is like going exclusively by the fact that Joyce's mother in Dumbing of Age is supposed to be his mother's stand-in and (fictional shootings and shooting endorsing aside) despite every effort by Willis to portray her as an abusive monster she just comes across as an slightly passive agressive but overall decent housewife.
Similarly, Walky and Sal's mother, arguably another expy of Willis mother, though more liberal, he keeps trying to portray her as another abusive asshole and she is actually being sensible and acting like a normal mother would in most of the situations she's put in.
This makes you think he doesn't have that much experience with abusive mothers in real life.
It's the fathers the ones he succesfully writes as murderous, deranged psychopaths or mouth foaming deluded fundies (even if highly unrealistic or comically over the top), when not portraying them as Jerry from Rick and Morty.
It makes you think, doesn't it?
