Daylight saving time hate thread.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Losing an hour of sleep builds character. If I had it my way, instead of setting clocks forward in the spring and back in the fall, we'd set them forward both times instead.

I have a fun theory that DST is entirely designed to fuck with our sense of time and permanence. We live in such an unnatural world, what's one more entirely arbitrary human measurement that we foolishly believe to be objective.

I forgot about DST. I wondered why it was so early this morning. Daylight savings time kind of sucks but I prefer it to the perpetual static time of the equator where the sunset and seasons never change. That seems like it would be kind of awful honestly. Like all of your life is just spent in a single day that always starts and ends at 6:30.

Fuck this stupid nigger-tier practice. It benefits literally no one and less developed countries already managed to figure out that it is a detriment.

If you are one of the cunts that has an opinion on whether it's "too dark" or "too bright" to choose whether we are an hour ahead or an hour behind; you deserve to be blinded so you are incapable of experiencing either.

It makes no sense why it exists. I've always heard that it was for the farmers, but they don't even use it. All the farmers I've known work from sunrise to sunset or until they're finished, so time is a complete non-factor in their workdays. Are we seriously just keeping it for retards who can't wake up while it's still dark? Just get rid of it, it's pointless.

Parents generally don't like their children going to school before the sun rises--thus its continued existence.

The government trying to control time just to make their cattle work more. There really is no limit to how much they're trying to control.
It doesn't really matter. It has no real major impact and it's all a mental thing. You can change the clock but it isn't going to stop the days from being shorter or longer. It's just part of the seasons and the rotation of the earth and shit like that.
I don't mind daylight savings time, but I don't like how in the winter months, 5PM is pitch dark but in the summer, 5PM feels like the middle of the afternoon.
That wouldn't change either. Like I said in the post above it's a mental thing. Changing the clock won't change the fact that it gets darker earlier in Fall and Winter.

That has more to do with your position on earth. Changing a clock really wouldn't make that better. In places like Alaska and places farther up near the north pole the sun never really goes down for 3 months and never really rises for 3 months.

Fuck the little tards.

Yes I understand how the Earth's rotation and orbit work. They also happen to not use daylight savings time as well as the Earth itself remaining consistent in those regions.

It was for urbanist office jockeys who couldn’t be bothered to work by candlelight.

Unpopular opinion: keep DST, but stretch it to be year-round.

Daylights saving is fucking gay, but we are back on the objectively best schedule for now, and I worked 1 less hour today so I'm in a good mood.
What? We are now on daylight savings time so how is it both the best and "fucking gay" ?

Anyway, I join in the hate. I didn't even realize it happened, though - though that explains how suddenly it was so late Saturday night. For real, I didn't even think about it, bc my Sundays aren't time-dependent, then last night thought the change day was Sunday, and I kept wondering why my clock didn't change, to the point I googled "what time is it," which is possibly the dumbest search I've ever done...except that it correctly told me I was ridiculous and it had happened 24 hours earlier.

Why is it so early now? Stupid. Literally said to myself Saturday early evening how nice it is it's light so much later finally. Now I have to wait another month to get it back.
