Holy shit DBDR had a sanity shattering encounter with the final boss of out of touch boomers. Where the fuck do I even begin with his uncle?

The whole college thing was something only a fully leaded boomer brain would think is a good idea in 2026. 4 years for a sociology degree at 25? Total insanity. Literally a meme degree with no jobs. The "$200k job" DBDR's uncle promised after graduation was probably a lie just to give DBDR motivation to get that degree. The boomer brain thinks it's still 1976 and college is still this fun adult daycare where average men and women meet each other normally, make friends for life and go to all these wild parties. That hasn't been the case for a LONG fucking time and a bachelor's degree doesn't guarantee you a good job after graduation and hasn't since fucking 2007. But boomer brain still sees college as the ticket to the middle class. And of fucking COURSE he looks down on blue collar work too and refused to get DBDR a job at the construction company that he owns.

I hope DBDR can recover from this and get his laptop back. It sounds like that cop talked some sense into his uncle at least.
 
It's brootal, dudes. I randomly came across DBDR last month and I've watched all his stuff since then. I dunno how one guy gets so unlucky, his life is like some never ending nightmare soap opera for me to watch with amazement and horror. His uncle is like a legitimate psychopath but god damn is his impression of him hilarious... I kinda feel bad for laughing while he's describing the most horrific shit but he's doing it with the "NO YOUS!" voice. I really hope he gets the trucking job and becomes independent enough to just avoid having to talk to his family... listening to how they treat him is really just infuriating, not a single one seems like even a tolerable person.

I grew up white trash so I know exactly how it feels to have not one sane person in your extended family.

This is something you have to live through and experience firsthand. If you haven't lived it you can't comprehend it.
 
i was already excited for the new vid on the Florida arc, but seeing the 1hr 30min video length while i was at work, it was a godsend. this one was truly a movie.

as much as we warned him not to go with his uncle, he did it and it ended up worse than most of us even expected lmao. i actually thought it'd last a month or two, it only lasted eleven fucking days before completely spiraling out of control. as much as i want to call him an idiot for doing it, it gave us this prime content, so i thank you, St. DBDR. but i do actually want him to have some wins for a change, so hopefully he figures it out and stops making these boneheaded decisions for his own sake. just based off of what WE knew about his uncle we knew it was a horrible idea, and yet he moved in with his uncle despite all of the awful firsthand experiences hes had with him, thinking he could somehow change his mind. theres so much i could say about his uncle, but its mostly been said.

hopefully he gets that 80k trucker job (and doesnt fuck it up this time), otherwise he just put himself back at square one for nothing. his dad being MIA is sketchy as hell, too... he doesnt have his phone number to make sure hes okay? knowing DBDR's luck, theres a chance something happened to his dad and he could be back to living out of his car for a while. i think he may be forced to cut back on the stubbornness and accept money from his fans, which it seems hes entertaining more now. the only real risk from going the route of setting up paid memberships and streaming is he could go down the lolcow path and end up with a not-so-positive thread on here, but i think he possesses enough self-awareness to prevent that. trucking or streaming seem to be the two paths forward, excited to see how this pans out.

His dad not being home for 3 whole days after DBDR fled his uncle's is one hell of a cliffhanger. I hope for DBDR's sake that his dad's fine and was just out of town for a bit because losing him would not be good for DBDR's mental state right now.

When I was downbad years ago, I went to visit my uncle just because I had nothing else to do and I wanted to look for jobs in the area he lives in. The visit was nice at first but he soon became overbearing and wanted me to sign a contract if I lived with him because he was afraid I was becoming a bum. I ended up leaving that trip a day early because he was too overbearing but I also ended up getting what is now my current job after firing off some applications. But instead of going to live with my uncle, I sucked it up and moved to the area and found a rental with no prior renting experience. It worked out and I've been living in this area ever since.

I am now on good terms with my uncle and he did give me space for a couple years. My family is thankfully not insane like DBDR's and I've gotten much better at having boundaries with people I'm close to. But in a way, I can kind of relate to his experience.

His meltdown in the car and at home was because it didn’t work how he hoped and he still made it to the interview . I hope the Guatemalan whore he married takes ever last dime of his.

I genuinely believe he would be better off completely cutting off his family and going nomad. He also should start streaming or open up a Patreon.

DBDR’s family always had a thing for sabatoging him when he was actually improving his life. His mom pulled him out of that group therapy thing right when he was starting to enjoy it and there was also the time his family bitched at him for working the warehouse job in NYC. I have no idea what disorder compels a person to do this, but it must run in both sides of the DBDR family.

These people just see DBDR as a golem that they can control and take their anger out on.
 
DBDR being barred out watching The Passion of the Christ while his Uncle yells at the TV is one of the funniest mental images ever. Even better is his uncle's only moment of sanity is telling DBDR he looks like shit for his interview.
Does he monetize his videos? If his trucking job doesnt work out I think he should open a Patreon and react to videos and do his sub5 analysis. The only downside is that it would make him easier for people to troll/alog him which would definitely be bad.
 
He should definitely do an audio blog while working as a trucker if he gets the job. It can be lonely doing that work, so it will give him some sort of connection while doing it.

Curious to see how his Dad is doing and why he's been gone. He said hes going back to Florida to pick up his laptop, see how part 2 unfolds.

He also said he took pictures of his bloody nose after the incident and recorded his uncle shouting at one point, so at the very least he has evidence of wrongdoing. That’s a very important thing to have when dealing with these manipulative narcissist types. Document fucking everything.

Thankfully that cop didn’t fall for the uncle’s yelling and from what DBDR’s cousin said, the uncle might have actually gotten a stern warning.

DBDR's uncle is the type of guy who'd park in a handicapped spot and get into a fight when someone calls him out over it. Also the guy who called him out was a gay black guy and he recorded the argument. And what did DBDR do during this confrontation? Dolphin dive into a bush while zonked out on Seroquel.

Brutal.

Also DBDR's dad is alive. He was just being a boomer and gambling away all his money in Vegas. And DBDR hasn't gone back to Florida to get his stuff back yet.
