I don't think I would do Nemesis in the first movie, that is a-lot of Ham for the first boss. You had me at Nicolas Cage as Nemesis.
I don't know. I feel like at this point the Snyderverse is way past the point of salvagable. There's bits of it, sure, but as a whole would trying to keep it going really result in less "suffering"?"God, I fucking hate our customers. Make them suffer, I don't care how much it costs."
I never got the hype for that guy. His Suicide Squad just came off as an edgier Guardians to me and I had no interest in Peacemaker since that looked to be more of the same.
I expected some kind of reboot, but keeping Cavill seems like a no-brainer on par with holding onto Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Patrick Stewart as Prof X etc. Come to think of it, wiping the slate clean was also the gist of their previous, poorly-received, now-defunct plan. Details are scarce now, but I suspect the greatest retardation is yet to come.I don't know. I feel like at this point the Snyderverse is way past the point of salvagable. It's the wise decision to make, assuming a total reboot *is* the decision. If he keeps his pet favorites Margot Robbie and John Cena in their current roles well then never mind.
This also gives me hope that they recast Jason Mamoa as Lobo.
Dude’s pushing 40, he looks great but if they’re planning a long game here (e.g. about a decade out, like the MCU) it kinda makes sense to restart with a younger actor for THE leading man of your new franchise.Honestly I have no clue what the fuck is going on with the DCEU now, like I really get wanting to do a clean slate, but Cavill was a great choice for Superman. But whatever at least with him being gone as Superman he could at least do something he really wanted since he is starring i and working on a Warhammer 40K series
I'm really confused by it all because if they're just going to start releasing contracts don't they still have to give the actors some big paydays?Stumbled on a video by that Doomcock guy and his insiders, if legit as I don't know much about the guy, claim the decision came from Zaslav dealing with Affleck reworking his contract to continue as Batman. Supposedly he wanted more money and since Zaslav is trying to fix WB's spending habits, he said fuck it and told Gunn to reset the whole DC films to end Affleck's, Gadot's and sadly Cavill's expensive contracts. Take it with a grain of salt as I have no idea how credible Doomcock can be, but given how since Zaslav took over and exposed how bad WB's spending has been, it could be legit.
Won't be surprised if they got some kind of severance pay. Not sure if Affleck had an extensive contract as I think he resigned just to do Flashpoint. If Doomcock's contacts turns out to be telling the truth, I wonder if Affleck will get the blame?I'm really confused by it all because if they're just going to start releasing contracts don't they still have to give the actors some big paydays?
Also aren't we reaching the tailend of cinematic universe capeshit? Marvel got there first and they won big time and now even they're looking pretty pathetic. Like @TVBForever wrote above DC should just do self contained movies. Like make a movie with The Flash and if Superman or Wonder Woman appears well that's cool like they crossover all the time in comics. But giant clusterfucker Justice League shit, please just stop already that stuff gets bloated and convoluted in comic books as is it's a nightmare to adapt.
The DTV animated movies do have a lot of great writing, something that the DCEU doesn't. If they do a Son of Batman or a Batman Beyond movie, then I'm up for it.I'm really confused by it all because if they're just going to start releasing contracts don't they still have to give the actors some big paydays?

Is a DC universe salvageable at this point? I feel like if they just automatically rebooted this EU, there wouldn’t be so much interest in it than before, especially since the MCU is continuously slipping now. And we caught a glimpse of Gunn’s vision with The Suicide Squad, a movie I liked a lot but bombed even by COVID standards.I don't know. Coming from a DC fan, not really. All of their past movies this year have been flops. Even Batman has been said to be a bigger failure than depicted. It sucks, as some of these past films have been good, but the interest is just not there. The brand has little good will on the big screen. My hope right now is that some films, particularly Super Pets, get a comeback post-theatre like Mask of The Phantasm did, but who knows. Is a DC universe salvageable at this point?
No idea, but a reboot is certainly a better chance than continuing the clusterfuck they have going right now.Is a DC universe salvageable at this point? I really didn’t mind Robbie and Cena in their respective roles, even Peacemaker is definitely not the character in the comics. What’s the hate for them for?
Margot is hated as many believe her to be a poor Harley Quinn, though I think this is more a case of DC ruining the character than Robbie. Nu-Girl Boss Harley has been contentious forever and that is the version the DCEU leaned heavily on rather than abuse victim Harley. The abuse aspect that made the character is hardly brought up in the universe as it more-so romanticized the sick relationship between her and Joker for Hot Topic merchandise. Margot was also heavily involved in the panned Birds of Prey movie and I believe she pissed off many of the culture wars figures with some comments.I don't think there is hate for Margot or Cena, but keeping them while ditching Cavill because they need a "total reboot" or whatever is going to have this universe start off with some bad blood from Cavil fans and just in general have another bad mark which DC doesn't need right now.
