I'm a half-a-nigger myself, but that really annoys me about DC.

Instead of creating a naturally cool character that happens to be a minority, like Blade or Luke Cage (seriously, early Luke Cage is just hilarious blaxploitation), they just slap a minority on top of an established hero and call it a day (Cyborg being the exception).

If they go ahead and cast Michael B. Jordan as Superman, get ready to see DC streaming on Peacock.
"Supergirl" is giving me serious Brie Larson vibes.
DC has lots of black characters, hell they have milestone ones but seem unwilling to make movies on them or even add them to movie and would rather race change white characters. Mean where the hell is the Static movie, and why Black Superman when they could do something with Icon.

In terms of new characters, both Marvel and DC are bad at that with pretty much every new hero being some kind of legacy heroes be it Iron Heart or Batwing rather than something fresh.

"I just wanna see Keaton as Batman!" Slides over the two existing Batman movies where he plays Batman. Go fuck yourselves, you dumb and useful idiots.

To a degree, I get it. There's something to be said about an actor you enjoy being in what is likely going to be a piece of shit or something that happens to be embroiled in controversy, or even if they want to go for the 'problematic' actor themselves. However, these motherfuckers are creaming their pants for a chance to see something that already exists. Keaton as Batman 9in the STARRING ROLE, no less), speedsters in blockbuster films, nostalgia and time warp superhero shenanigans (Marvel has MULTIPLE movies in that veins at this point, between Dr. Strange and Spiderman, that you could go back to), The Flash who has a television series not starring Ezra Miller.

If these people said, loud and proud, "I just wanna see Ezra's The Flash movie" and stopped making excuses for why they were going to support this film or why people shouldn't judge them because of it, go the fuck ahead. Really. But the remarkable ability to bend over and gobble down DC's cock without a shred of honesty is what irks me. Think about the people who made it, think about all the other actors, wah wah fucking wah, shut the fuck up you easily entertained and forgetful pieces of shit.

Rules for thee and not for me, on display once again. If someone wants to watch a movie bankrolled by Weinstein, I'm not going to judge them for it. But these are the exact same people that would. If you dared watch the wrong media, a movie made before 2015, enjoyed media where an Asian man has a funny accent. But yeah, let's band together and watch the Ezra Miller speed show because fuck the children, fuck morals (until they decide they matter), basic human decency has been replaced by sport team fan mentalities, and I'm MATI about a DC movie I'm not even going to watch.

Also, all I can see is the lower half of his face and there's NOTHING about Keaton's performance in that once clip worthy of any of this bullshit. Come the fuck on now. At least Andrew and Tobey looked like they weren't miserable to be on set in their trailer (haven't watched the film).

Here we see consoomers in action as they provide various excuses as to why they will see this movie. There are the classic one: "it's been filmed already" "what about the 1000s who worked on it?", and "the public has moved on from the incident". Then there is the smug: "I separate the artist from the art", and the appeal to emotion: "everyone deserves a second chance". Finally, we have a brand new excuse where some compared Ezra Miller to Robert Downey Jr. because the latter also had a criminal past and I guess their reasoning was that nobody was demanding a boycott of Iron Man :stress:
Robert Downey Jr. Didn't kidnap anyone or start a cult las I checked.

Honestly as a white guy I liked Icon I thought he was cool. Do you think they don't want to make a movie about him because he's a black republican superhero.

Honestly you wouldn't get any blacklash doing a Icon movie.

No because they could just changed it or not dwell on it if they wanted to. They just don't see him as marketable like with many black characters because of lack of awareness which is made worse with not trying to build that awareness up with other media such as comic, games, tv and cartoons.

Mean Marvel didn't have faith in Black Panther which is clearly why he was in Civil War first. And why nearly all these legacy heroes appear in something else first, Iron Heart in Black Panther 2 , Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye show, America Chavez in Doctor Strange 2. Only one that doesn't fit the mold is Miss Marvel who did get her own show to start off with.

Shit.

You reminded me of Steel, starring The Diesel himself...

At least that was hilarously awful, unlike BvS, and JL, and Black Adam, and WW 1984...

Other than Cyborg and Static, you also have Bumblebee, who at least has a prominent role in DC Super Hero Girls to hold her up, if not her multiple appearances in Teen Titans media.

There is also Black Lightning, who was cool before the CW, even had some great DC Nations shorts.

Honestly all the excuses people use to make themselves sound morally righteous for seeing this dogshit are terrible

>I WANT TO SUPPORT THE 1000s OF PEOPLE WHO PUT THEIR SOUL INTO THIS MOVIE

Those people are already compensated. This isn't like Batgirl where they can't use the footage as part of a demo reel. So that's not an excuse

>I STILL DON'T SUPPORT EZRA MILLER

Yet you're paying money for his movie and that movie ticket just tells DC the Ezra controversies were a nothing burger, and if they keep him around that's these consoomers fault

>SEPARATE ART FROM THE ARTIST

This movie is not a work of passion but corporate slop that tickles your nostalgia

Like it's objectively clear the only reason people want to see this movie is because of their fucking nostalgia and consoomerism. It's as though people don't know how to pirate movies.

Anf time warp superhero shenanigans (Marvel has MULTIPLE movies in that veins at this point, between Dr. Strange and Spiderman, that you could go back to), The Flash who has a television series not starring Ezra Miller.

...but those were shit (except maybe Days of Future Past).

I won't be seeing this movie though, since I don't really care what excuse they pull out of their ass to explain the reboot. It looks like it will share very little in common with Flashpoint other than the premise, and by sacking the previous cast it tells me that they have no intention of making a DoFP that helps reconcile the conflicting timelines.

Probably going to be a hot mess in the same way that the other two remaining movies are likely to.

Has anyone mentioned this guy yet?

Dude is making constant AI deepfakes of actors and directors saying things that can be summed up as “Dude, the Snyderverse can totally still happen and be saved if Netflix buys the rights, it’s such a good and amazing idea!”

It claims to be a parody account, but the amount of videos it keeps putting out saying the same thing is kinda suspect.

Carious is he actually trying to sucker people into believing these are real?

Edit: nevermind he has it on his handler that he is a parody account. Would have been sadder if it was legit a guy trying to pass off shit as real.

I am fucking sick of multiverse shit. I liked No Way Home well enough and I still hated what it represents because it just cements Spidey will never be a street level hero again. And I hate this because Flashpoint is something you do when Flash has already had movies to establish himself, meanwhile this is Forty Batmans: also starring the Flash. I get that Ezra Miller is a radioactive pit dragging this movie down and this movie exists to basically take the DCEU behind the shed and shoot it, but still.

(Must say: as a kid, this scene traumatized me for years.)
Oh Hell, yes. Absolute nightmare fuel for tiny me. Remember it like it was yesterday.

On the general discussion of the Flash movie, I wont bother. I liked the Snyder cut of Justice League - I appreciate that Snyder doesn't wallow in irony and bathos like most super-hero media today. Jettisoning him, Cavill and keeping the Flash actor rubs me up the wrong way.

And whilst I liked the original Burton Batman film when I was a kid, I re-watched it last year and couldn't even finish it. Michael Keaton is a fun actor but I've no desire to see a fourth installment of his Batman. Callbacks like this never work as well because by this point they always put the original version on a big pedestal and rely on its history to give it any gravitas. Lines are no longer well-written in and of themselves but rely on the fact they're callbacks to an older movie. "I'm Batman" is good in the first movie when he's dangling a guy off the roof and it's the first words he speaks. But they don't have much inherent impact by themselves four movies later - they're just there because they're "the line".

To be fair the end of No Way Home did put Peter back on the streets, of course this could age poorly depending on what they want to do with Spider-Man 4

But holy fuck the other thing shit about this movie is that this is Flash’s first outing and none of Flash’s rogues gallery is used. While it isn’t as infamous, Flash has one of the best rogues galleries in comics and to scrap them in favor of Dark Flash and General Zod sucks

Captain Boomerang was for one scene used again the Flash in Suicide Squad so that totally counts right?

The problem with time warp-related superhero movies (or any established franchise) is that if they're not done as nostalgia bait, they almost always retroactively fuck with the originals and make the canon worse off. So you got MIB 3 when it turns out K didn't choose J because he was good at what he did, he did it because he erased J's memory of his dad getting killed by Boris the Animal and then never actually told him the truth before J had to save K's ass from getting erased from reality, or how Star Trek 2009 opens with Leonard Nimoy's Dr. Spock being permanently trapped in a new timeline where Vulcan gets blown up.

Other than mythology gags, there has never been a time travel movie made in order to specifically to repair damage to canon.

It could apply to both really.

I still can’t get over that this is the first flash movie ever made. It’d be like if the first Spider-Man movie was about Spiderman teaming up with multiple variants of Hulks and Black Widow to fight Red Skull
Didn't they make a -shitty- film back in the '90s?

Men in black 3 was perfect and I will defend the crap outta that movie.
