Friendly reminder journalists unironically tried to blame the Ukraine war on WB releasing the Synder cut. Many of which are James Gunn butt buddies in the press.

Can you explain what they even mean by this?
Putin sent Russian bots to trick WB into releasing the Snyder Cut for some reason to help Russia geopolitically. Movie journalists even blame Russia for Demon Slayer making more money than James Gunn's Superman and the Fantastic Four recently.

It's one of those ideas that makes you wonder how it took this long to get even though it's so cool.

Reminds me of how Batman: The Animated Series made heavy use of Joker Venom instead of killing people to get around censorship.

They're not dead, so this is perfectly okay.
Ignoring that being stuck like that might be worse.

Similarly, David Corenswet openly acknowledged that 'Superman' was an anti-Israel film concerning Gaza. I am awaiting further attempts at damage control from Midnight's Edge and Yellow Flash for their undue praise of James Gunn, asserting that the film was not woke.

That would contradict Gunn's usual approach, considering he's part Jewish. Even his mentor, Lloyd Kaufman, has kept quiet on the conflict, despite making some Troma "I Stand with Ukraine" videos.

It sounds like a strange culture war hill to die on, but fits well with woke philosophy. Coastal elites want artists revered as gods above all reproach or accountability from the toxic entitled peasant consumers. Releasing the Snyder cut reminded ungrateful dance monkeys that they bow to the people's will, so of course the capitulation is treated as an affront to their egos.

To be honest, this is much better and less retarded than absolute Batman. Especially if the rumors of marvel ending the ultimate universe because of a Disney mandate to make room for something like absolute marvel are true.

That’s hysterical, isn’t Marvel already the Absolute version of itself?

X-Men are racist and deluded by a pedophile and a jew into thinking they’re a separate species.

Hordes of dysgenic replacements.

Governments are ran by supervillains every second event.

Spider-Man sold his baby to Borat

Hulk is Hellboy now, Iron Man is the thrall of a mutant, Cap bends the knee to everyone but his president, the Illuminati is still fucking around and finding out and Paul has custody over Dylan Brock.

Imitating the imitation, shameful. This page alone has 10x the soul of anything to come out of Absolute.

I wouldn’t be surprised if James Gunn's DCU gets canceled over using Superman for anti-Israel propaganda. He can’t deny that Superman was about Palestine when his actors admit it. The Snyderverse might even end up as the Star Wars prequels 2.0 down the line. Odds are good that the Snyderverse will outlast the DCU at this point. unless Matt Reeves Batman joins the universe.

‘Superman’ Goes Serious: James Gunn’s DC Reboot Submits for Drama Categories at the Golden Globes (EXCLUSIVE)

James Gunn‘s DC Universe reboot, “Superman,” is making a serious play for awards season recognition.

In a surprise twist, Variety has learned exclusively that Warner Bros. has submitted the summer blockbuster into the drama categories at the Golden Globes, signaling the filmmaker’s intention to position the iconic superhero as more than just escapist entertainment.

The studio submitted “Superman” for best motion picture (drama), along with acting categories for David Corenswet in best actor (drama), Rachel Brosnahan for supporting actress and Nicholas Hoult for supporting actor. Additional submissions include Gunn for directing and screenplay, plus original song for “The Mighty Crabjoy’s Theme,” penned by Gunn, Eric Nally and Devin Williams. The film has also earned enough box office receipts for consideration for Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which recognizes films that have grossed more than $150 million globally. Currently, “Superman” ranks as 2025’s third-highest domestic grosser behind Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” and Warner Bros.’ own “A Minecraft Movie.”

The drama category positioning underscores Gunn’s ambition to present the Man of Steel — traditionally associated with truth, justice and the American way — as a vehicle for weighty themes. Many critics and fans of the film have noted how the narrative portrays both Clark Kent’s alienness and humanity, sparking considerable online discourse.

Early in the movie, the fictional Eastern European nation of Boravia, a U.S. ally, invades the impoverished country of Jarhanpur. Social media users have drawn what many call “obvious” parallels to the Israel-Gaza conflict, though the studio has never officially commented on the geopolitical subtext.

Beyond the Globes, “Superman” is generating some Oscar buzz within the artisan branches of the Academy. According to AMPAS members and sources, the film is said to be among the early favorites for visual effects, with Stephane Ceretti, Enrico Damm, Stéphane Nazé and Guy Williams leading the team — though the hotly anticipated “Avatar: Fire and Ash” looms as formidable competition. The production could also factor prominently in the sound race discussions, with Lee Orloff, David Acord, Katy Wood, Chris Boyes and Tim Leblanc’s work drawing aural praise, along with makeup and hairstyling by Alexei Dmitirew, Peter Swords King and Shane Mahan.

But there will be one notable omission, regardless of the outcome. John Murphy and David Fleming’s infectious, reinvented music score won’t be eligible for consideration due to its extensive callbacks to John Williams’ iconic Oscar-nominated 1978 “Superman” theme, which fails to meet the Academy’s 35% criteria for original composition.

DC-character films have found Golden Globe success before. Todd Phillips’ “Joker” (2019) won best actor for Joaquin Phoenix and best original score, with both victories translating to Oscar wins. Even Gunn’s own track record includes awards recognition for his “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” (2024) received a nomination for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Globes, before nabbing an Oscar nom for visual effects. Gunn’s 2014 original “Guardians” earned Oscar nods for makeup and hairstyling and visual effects, which was followed by the 2017 sequel “Vol. 2,” which also scored a mention for visual effects.

The Golden Globe nominations will be revealed on Dec. 8. This week’s Golden Globe updates are below.

Top 3 projected Golden Globe nomination leaders (films): “One Battle After Another” (9); “Sinners” (7); “Hamnet” (6)

Top 3 projected Golden Globe nomination leaders (TV): “Adolescence” (5); “Severance” (4); “The Pitt” (3)

Top 3 projected Golden Globe nomination leaders (film studios): Warner Bros (20); Neon (15); Netflix (13)

Top 3 projected Golden Globe nomination leaders (TV networks): Netflix (22); HBO Max (17); Apple TV (13)

I could have seen Superman get a spot for comedy given how slim pickings that is, but drama get out of here.

I know Mark Ruffalo on the far left (that guy's been a douche online for years), but who are the other three?
Odds are good that the Snyderverse will outlast the DCU at this point. unless Matt Reeves Batman joins the universe.
Or they have Mister Terrific become Batman.
How could they make antisemitism so lame and gay.
But it's anti-Zionism! They're following their hero, G.I. Robot!

Think they're doing this to spite Martin Scorsese?

Drama? What, the retarded conflict between Russia Israel and Ukraine Palestine? That scene where Superman and Lois get pissy at each other? The part where literally everyone on Earth immediately turns on a dime when they see unverified footage of Superman's parents telling him that they're actually super evil aliens that want him to take over the planet, in spite of all the good he's done his whole life? When I hear "drama," I think about movies about interpersonal conflicts between characters, a wedge in a couple's marriage, maybe, not a superhero movie where the good guy has to punch the bad guy really, really hard. This shit isn't Birdman, it's the shit Birdman was making fun of

Space Ice needs to do more shitting on bigger budget movies, this one was perfect.

"White on white is a bold choice but okay cause now we got some math to do!" had me laughing, and pointing out how stupid Engineer was for doing her gay ass head and feet swap when she could just keep turning around shows how truly shit this movie is.

The Bat-Fam series dropped on Amazon Prime Video today, and they even put the first episode on YouTube. It's uh... certainly something.
