I read the first series and enjoyed it, I've been waiting for this one to wrap up. I didn't know they brought in Superman for 2, but I'm excited to read it. It's written by Dan Jurgens isn't it? As far as just regular comics creators, he's probably one of my favorite writers and artists who you can usually count on to put out solid work. I can't think of anything written or drawn by him thats flat out bad.

He's one of those guys, particularly on Superman over the years, if you see his name on a book you probably aren't getting a masterpiece or anything but you're getting perfectly good or better than average stuff, seeing him do a golden age thing is awesome.
Well I'm glad something in DC is still decent then. I looked at it out of curiosity recently and it seemed to be some sort of championship fight competition called "KO" and from what I saw it was entirely moronic.

A small reminder: Fox's Batman show in Gotham got away with whitewashing the mutant gang leader, and so-called geek journalists and fake geek cult woke retards didn’t care. Frank Miller made it clear that the mutant leader was an albino African American and was based on Mr. T. Blackwashing characters is indeed part of an agenda.
Why is his visor so shit? And why are the mutants from Batman's bad alt future in the Batman prequel show?

Gotham was akin to Riverdale but with a more serious cast and less exaggerated teenage portrayals. It featured a gay penguin character who also served as an analog to Donald Trump, a lesbian version of the Joker, and subtly referenced the Joker as a demonic entity. Additionally, the series included twin Joker characters and positioned V for Vendetta as the primary antagonist in a Gotham prequel centered around Alfred Pennyworth. Notably, the Alfred television series was, in fact, a prequel to Gotham.

It did love to be "edgy" though. And had Jada Pinkett Smith as a woefully unscary and plot-armoured primary villain. I didn't see it through the end. The kid playing Bruce was good and same with Nygma.

I suspect K.O. will be Injustice 3, meaning the next fighting game release with the same engine will move away from Evil Superman and into tradition DC vs. All These Licensed Characters (Homelander, Vampirella, etc.). However, I never underestimate a corporation hanging onto a recognizable brand name even when its nonsensical, so I'm not betting on it. I'd also prefer them to make the game the K.O. comic event. I'm just Injusticed out.

I'm surprised people here like Absolute Bats, when it's a safe edgy take of Azrael Batman at best.
What's the justification for the KO tourney event going on these days? Darkseid implanted mind control worldwide again? The failed Smash Bros game with DC had a comic justifying the plot in a not too bad way, funnily enough.

I know a lot of people loved Batman: The Animated Series (despite the fact that there were many weak or weird episodes—there were episodes where Batman faced off against an android clone of himself or traveled to Japan to fight a ninja or got kidnapped by a fat guy who forced him to work him in a gold mine, and these sorts of episodes are never talked about, but then no one gets mad at how badly the series was screwed over
Well I liked most/all of the stuff you mention. imo, the things people never talk about are: 1) the many B:TAS episodes with awful animation and 2) TNBA having more consistent quality. I liked the ninja tbh, but some of that other stuff... TNBA wasn't doing episodes where Batman fought the bad guy from Oliver Twist or whatever. All the absolute worst episodes were in the original animation style.

All I'm saying is that while I wish that there were more episodes, I'm 100% sure that it would also be a monkey's paw wish and that we would be worse off with it
Oh, they pretty much did: it's called Caped Crusader, and I tried, I really tried, even defended it in this very thread, but yeah it sucks, honestly.

The whole DCAU crew have always been open about the retarded demands the suits and parents' groups made regarding the old shows, but I doubt they can speak openly about the dumb woke stuff Netflix wanted without a lynch mob coming for them. So we probably won't know what the hell happened there for years, if ever, but I'm doubtful that those guys, liberal though they are, spontaneously decided that Batman cartoons need more fat brown lesbians.

You could just play the Arkham games, they are essentially BTAS without the censors.
I do view the Arkhamverse as mostly compatible with BTAS. Arkhamverse still uses Oracle, so The Killing Joke DID happen in that timeline in-between.

Yeah but at the same time I'm not sure how willing they are with Netflix to begin with. They sort of wanted to lean into the Harley/Ivy lovers angle (New 52 went all the way) but you couldn't do that on children's television in the 1990s, and most of the obvious stuff was no blood and no one dies even by all rights they should've. They weren't consistent though, the Superman 64 game was notoriously held to strict standards WB wanted, but by that time they already made the rare decision of killing off Dan Turpin permanently.

And it's a little doubtful that he could decode the message
I would love it if superhero movies picked a lane. If you want to be all Nolan or The Batman semi-realism, ok. If you want to go balls to the wall comic wackyness, ok. Trying to have it both ways fails. I would be absolutely fine with Lex Luthor being able to decode the message when no one and nothing else can because he's comic book villain supergenius Lex Luthor, that's why. Fuck you. But the rest of the movie should conform to that style too, instead of trying to make a Serious Political Movie with men and women in tights that can fly and take missiles to the face etc.

Gunn really wants to do the Authority.

Which the only good team member is Jack, the most likley to be cut.

“What? Because I have some unorthodox political views, I’m supposed to desecrate my face with ethnic shrapnel?”
Jack Hawksmore is the worst Authority member, as even Jenny Sparks has self awareness about her soap box Sadie rantings and the plot point that she knows when to back down when her teammates start wigging out. Jack however is a true believer, is willing to let the world burn as payback for being lobotomized and tortured, repeatedly made excuses for the Doctor killing people when he loses control over his powers while on heroin, and pretty much being hyper extreme beyond what Sparks was willing to do.

You know what the “cancelled” arc shows?

Gunn still thinks he did nothing wrong and is still chapped that “low IQ monkeys” had a problem with him working for Disney and having an obsession with child sodomy.
This. James Gunn a thousand times over seems utterly obsessed to the point of vendetta on turning all projects he does until he dies to be a out getting revenge on conservatives for cancelling him, even for a short period of time because the little faggot thought he was an unstoppable golden god after GotG and will never fucking stop seething about it via turning all of his works into revenge porn where he kills those mean "Nazis" even if he has to rape source material like he did poor GI Robot to do so or waste time on a V For Vendetta mini that will never fucking get made because WB knows it will cost them approval to sell to Netflix

I mean, him turning Superman into his self-insert is where it peaked. But his inability to distinguish reality from fiction is interesting, all creators put themselves into their work, it’s inescapable.

But Gunn, not unlike the “greats” of this site has had any nuance burned out. If you’re one of his faggoty friends, then not only will your character be drawn as a chad but your characters will be confident sex-havers and so long as you kiss the ring you will always have work. It’s just peculiar that he chose Peacemaker as the outlet for his cuckoldry.

His will be a funny crashout (again).

The Pennyworth series?
yeah, it's a solid ultra violent spy show that has hilarious implications for the Batman universe. Alfred fucks the queen, which is funny enough. Martha Wayne is a drugged up whore, etc. There's tons of goofy shit in there.

The main guy does a pretty good Michael Caine impression. Like I said, I had no idea it was related to Gotham (which I've never seen a single episode of), and I haven't seen the third season with the V for Vendetta shit in it but the first two seasons were really fun.

I'm not too familiar with Alfred's history, but hasn't he been established as a former secret agent in the comics?
hes had all kinds of various backstories, typically he was some sort of military man who went into the family business of being a butler once his father died. sometimes hes just an army dude, sometimes he was a secret agent, like most of that shit it's relatively inconsistent.

The tv show is just totally absurd though. That's what I liked about it. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who wants Alfred from Batman's backstory beyond a laugh, but as its own goofy ass show it's highly entertaining. It does what i used to call the smallville effect where everything is subverted or different just for the sake of it but from what I understand Gotham became the undisputed king of that kind of thing, so it being related to it makes a lot of sense.

Darkseid is going to take over the planet and they have to super charge one hero with what little God energy they have to face Darkseid since Darkseid's latest death reborn deal amped up his power. However, the person with the cosmic power juice is Doomsday, who has become the latest Time Trapper due to Darkseid slaughtering all four Legions via the absolute Legion team and he decided to throw a tournament which the villains crashed. Oh and Darkseid has possessed Booster Gold and is planning on attacking the winner of the tournament and the ending (Superman) got spoiled due to the next major event post KO is Superboy Prime having to fill in for Superman due to Superman going MIA post KO.
