I think the closest Diana's lore came to deconstruction was the JL two-part episode, "Fury," where a human girl ended up on Themyscira after fleeing from her war-torn country and, having been raised by the Amazons, plots to wipe out the male half of the world's population. There was even a scene where Hawkgirl points out to WW that her belief system is nothing more than misandry.
It was a good idea for an episode, but the conflict was hilariously mishandled. I swear most of the argument between Wondy and Hawkgirl basically amounted "I don't want men to die, but that doesn't mean women can't be capable without them." "Diana, I literally cannot live without dick." before concluding with the reveal that a man saved the villain once so now she can recognise that men can be good.

Remember Supes being treated as a dumb, naive idiot for being pissed that Kara got taken by WW to Themyscra because Batman involved everyone in Clark’s business?

Yeah, I’d be pissed too.
Does anyone have that amazing 4chan gif of this uncomfortably sexy scene where Clark presents his cousin, but with a million other comic characters MS painted over the two of them? I seem to remember one of them being Vision saying "lol dildo."

not that long ago I was in a comic store and this old black guy was looking at this old used witchblade poster and I just walked by and he went "what a woman" and I started laughing and said yeah nobody drew babes like Mike Turner, RIP, he was my favorite artist when I was a kid. and anyways we got to talking about guys who drew hot chicks in comics and how they suck now because you dont have guys drawing shit like Jim Balent did Catwoman anymore, and this dude showed me a picture of his basement and the walls were entirely covered with 90s comic babe posters. He had a Balent Catwoman, a Rogue and Jean Grey from X-Men in thongs, a 6 foot Vampirella, etc. There was no shit at least 20 gigantic posters covering the walls.

He told me his wife and him used to get into fights when they were young and she'd accuse him of being more into Storm or Batgirl then he was her. He had me dying. He went on to say "the last 15, 20 years they dont really make comics for me anymore, but I moved on to the anime, dem japs boy, GOT DAMN they can draw some bitches"

It was probably one of the funniest conversations I've ever had. The dude was probably 60 years old.

My grandfather was like that, he loved Wonder Woman and Conan, the man could’ve moved heaven and Earth with how he loved Lynda Carter and those Frazzeta chicks.
Diana was a lolcow all along, she even has a weird sex fetish and a hatred of men. Imagine her thread on here
Well Batman is a forum troll, that’s canon, that he posts things like “Bruce Wayne is Batman alongside ridiculous rumours,” to gaslight and discredit it.

Me and a former coworker always sat around, burning company money by just shooting the shit about comics and whatnot. One of the funniest ones we came to was Lex having to take time away from his usual hijinks to clear his name and calmly explain that he has nothing to do with Jeffery Epstein, one of the few times he’s ever honest with the public.

“Preposterous rumour, I had nothing to do with the man or his vile actions. You want the one who ordered the murder? Go talk to Waller. I’m insulted that you would even accuse of such a thing Superman.”

Wonder Woman having one would honestly help in getting her character…… in-place and not just whatever her current writer is.

“Is he picking his teeth? The might of a god and he still cares about this foot-ball game? Why does he make references to a ‘wing night’ and not give out invitations to us, his companions? By Hera, Lois Lane must have the patience of a saint.”

Then jump to Clark’s

“Still got some chicken in my teeth, damn. Remember to invite Bruce to game night, think of a cover identity if he is coming, probably not but it’s good to extend an offer. Diana’s looking at me weirdly, she looks at everyone weirdly. Oh, someone just tripled on some exposed pipe in the recreational deck, it sounds like Oliver, that’s very unfortunate.”
Basically the "I bet he's thinking about other women..." meme format but for the Watchtower. I love it.

Plus Clark can hear everyone who has gotten freaky in the Watchtower and that probably didn’t help things much. Motherfucker probably leaves notes on the communal post-it board. “Please stop having sexual relations on the Watchtower, some are heightened senses that reduce the privacy you think you have.”
There would be also another note underneath from John Stewart that reads: "Please also stop asking me to participate because 'she would be alright with it' and hinting about 'reparations'. Thank you!"

I dont think hed be sitting around thinking "damn i wish count vertigo would kill that fucker" but I do think he's the guy who when having a beer on the watchtower with Hal and the guys, hed be thinking to himself Jesus i hope Oliver goes home soon or shuts the fuck up. Oliver is the type to constantly be up his ass asking Clark to do things and thinking the world is entitled to Superman doing thats outside the scope of what he's comfortable with, but would have 0 self reflection on why its inappropriate to basically just tell Superman to do them or that he's overstepping boundaries or even inconveniencing the guy. I like Ollie too, I think his absurd politics make for a fascinating character, but I really just think hed be the guy superman is like oh great not him at his birthday party.
Higher difficulty rating: How do you think Ollie would get along with Question? The latter is an actual blue collar hero who will be well-informed about elites and their cabals and schemes to maintain control. And yet I feel instinctively they will clash.

Love that episode. One of the first I managed to see. Honestly, her storylines could be that alone. Her lore is incompatible with modern society. She was the representative of a tribe of hurt women. Now, those women are backwards. Amazons Attack was another great representation of that. Sucky story but it really brings home that the Amazons are not kind. There was the tradition of raping sailors and killing them (in some continuities), exiling and/or killing their sons/brothers (in some continuities) and, of course, Historia which is canon in AWW and reads like radfem revisionist propaganda. In general, Amazons succeed not because of their virtuous morals but because the gods and JL keep them safe. Their society would have crumbled otherwise. It is like a rich kid asking the bullied kids why they do not bring bodyguards with them.
One of the best emotional touches with Wonder Woman is actually in the movie when she sees a baby for the first time. She immediately rushes over and wants to see it because she has literally never seen one before and only heard of them. It shows a maternal instinct that plays well to soften the warrior image.

Lex, how do you explain this picture of you and your associates?

Toyman and Hatter are shoe-ins. I presume Hal is in there for that time he dated a 13 year old alien girl?

Yes

  • Toyman and Mad Hatter have been/are implied to be
  • Harley tried to fuck Shazam in the Injustice comic, even knowing he is 10
  • DeathStroke had sex with 16 year old Terra.
  • Hal for the 13 year old alien girl

They already did

Granted, this Ollie is significantly toned down and made to be more likable.

I think that the best way to write WW is by having her find out that she is in fact BETTER than the rest of the Amazons. Have her realize that their paradise is built on blood and hypocrisy and decide she will be better than them. Be disillusioned but more determined to be a hero to set an example for humans AND Amazons.

I regret to remind you once again that "The Dark Knight Strikes Again" existed.

I mean, this is the DC universe, where aliens and gods are real. Is anything Question says less believable than that?
The Question is absolutely the kind of guy to stakeout the water cooler at the Watchtower, wait for Superman (possibly days of waiting) then goes up, says something world-changing, then says “someone should write about it.”

“Ah, Question, how are you?”

“Ashton Kutcher has taken up Sean Combs’ empire of sodomy, be a damn shame if Clark Kent found this folder, with these photographs, this used container of baby oil, seventeen snuff films and no less than nine connections to Mickey Mouse and satanic cult activity in Aruba, with ties to Deacon Blackfire and recruiting offices in Coast City.”

“How……. how do you have all this?”

Like if any DC characters were to be posters on here, it’s Question, Lex Luthor practically owning the Superman thread, Bruce Wayne shitposting in off-topic and Lois on the chick board a-logging most of the female superheroes, Lois is definitely one of those chicks who hates other women, she was very femcel-coded in any of the Geoff Johns stuff or earlier in the Post-Crisis era, nightmare woman. I could also see Jason blackpilling himself on 4chan.

"dammit Manta we're still not making a thread about aquaman"

I could see Lobo posting on here and becoming a very love it or hate it regular

If you're very willing to go off the beaten comic shop path and don't mind your wallet getting brutally raped repeatedly there is the indie good girl, bad girl and or other comic scene where there's still western artists who can "draw some bitches."

they've actually historically been portrayed as buddies kind of. you know the type, two dudes who argue about absolutely everything and seem like they wouldnt possibly get along but at group gatherings they always end up together enjoying bitching out each other and unstoppable force and unmovable object-ing each other on topics that just go in circles.

Years ago in my late teens and early 20s I was working on this schizophrenic mess of a Superman fan fic that I wanted to do 120 issues and somewhere in there I wanted Oliver specifically to be the only guy who could get in touch with the Question. there was a funny exchange where Clark goes to him and is like I need to find your buddy Sage and Oliver is like my buddy? That freak isnt my buddy. And Clark tells him that Bruce said he was his buddy, and Oliver is basically like how the fuck would Bruce.... nevermind anyways yeah here's his phone number.

I liked the idea that the question (who's not really in it besides one section, really outside of Batman and Robin its only Superman related characters except for some big JLA action shit when Brainiac comes to earth) only finds YOU, you dont find the question, and nobody can get ahold of him at all, except the one single guy on earth he gave a communication line to at some point, is the dude he argues about everything with to the point that they are known to regularly beat each other up when they interact.

and when Superman gets ahold of sage he's basically like did that commie freak give you my number and superman is thinking like what the fuck is wrong with these guys, and its sort of a background gag that literally no heroes besides each other can stand the Question or Green Arrow.

@el bandito loco I see the fun of that idea. I like odd pairings. Hell, I could kind of see (some versions of) Supergirl and Lobo working. But perhaps in part just because I can relate to The Question more than almost any other hero, I just feel he wouldn't get on with Ollie who I think really is something of a Champagne Socialist. The sort of "disagree on everything but friends" types really requires both parties to be sincere in their belief. And maaaybe Ollie's beliefs are sincere. I just don't think they're well-founded and the Question is all about objectivity. More so than anything else.

I think there is a natural inclination to have characters one likes also like each other. But I don't like Ollie much so it doesn't work for me (I do like the CW version but he was quite different and Steven Amell is very good). I'll admit that's also a part of why I think Lobo and (some versions of) Supergirl would be fun.

I don't see the Question having many actual friends, poor fellow. He's as driven as Batman but on a less So Cool way and almost as uncompromising. The ones who'd most likely treat him properly are the less human heroes like Manhunter and Tornado, both of whom would take his conspiracy theorizing at face value without prejudice. But neither have that much overlap with him and Manhunter would mainly be focused on whether or not he was actually useful to the Justice League. Batman would see him as mainly a slightly random and unreliable source, Wonder Woman would blink for a moment and then say "Oh yes... I forgot about Vic". Supergirl would ask him why he was going through her trash, Cyborg would ask him why he was going through his hard drives, Ollie would hand him a book by Noam Chomsky all wide-eyed and Question would ask Ollie what he thought about Chomsky's association with Epstein. The powered set wouldn't see much value in someone who can basically just take a punch better than most and make an exception for Batman because he is so active and his focus is on real name villains they can relate to, whereas Question probably doesn't come out of his room for a week and is talking about Baskin Robbins. Huntress... okay, I guess maybe she likes him.
