Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

Not sure how you guys feel about a puzzle game being missed but here goes.

Panel de pon also known as Tetris Attack in the US. it was truly unlike anything else. Tetris you stack tetrominoes, in Puyo Puyo you stack colored jellys to make a combo. Panel de Pon? you shift blocks around to create the combo and send garbage blocks to your opponent and fill their screen till it's game over. it may not seem like much but it's addictive when you get chains going.

I honestly hope Nintendo will consider putting this on switch at least so I can enjoy my favorite puzzle game on the go.

The Silent Hunter Series. I still have Silent Hunter III. Right now I'm operating on a allied convoy east of halifax, NS, have sunk two tankers already was depth charged for three hours and lost contact on the convoy.
Also I still have Silent Hunter IV on my PC, both game sare heavily modded tho.

I'm still hoping for a Star Wars: Republic Commando sequel, another Battlefield: Bad Company game or SWAT 5.
*sigh*

I'd kill for a remaster of Twisted Metal 1 and 2 but Sony owns the rights to the Twisted Metal franchise and David Jaffe has no control over it so it'll just continue to stagnate for eternity. :crocodile:

I just remembered the Suikoden series. Even though part four was a disappointment, it was a fun series with good characters, plenty of people to recruit and good gameplay.

Still waiting for a Ogre Battle or Tactics Ogre game to happen.

These. By quoting these I hope the butterfly effect kicks in and brings them back. Two of my favorite series.

To this day i still refuse to let go Darkstalkers. It was a fun series that had memorable characters that weren’t just only morrigan, felicia, or hsien ko. The gameplay was solid for a fighter, the artstyle and animations were great, the music is nice to listen to and I really hope capcom makes a 4th one even though it means dumbing it down

Psi-Ops: Mindgate Conspiracy was the biggest victim of Midway closing as they were planning a sequel to the game. I would have love a sequel as the gameplay was good and didn't take itself seriously.

War of the Roses was a large scale sword combat game, and kind of a successor to Mount and Blade Warband's multiplayer. It improved on the combat style of M&B and had a huge variety of weapons that all actually felt different. I was a big fan of the pole-axe myself.

Sadly the dev team lost their shit and ruined what was already a poor balance. It also didn't help that it was competing with Chivalry and it's obvious who won that one.

Not sure if anyone else posted this, but the Might and Magic series (not the "heroes" side-arc) is one of the best Western rpgs. Might and magic 6-8 in particular were amazing for both their depth and freedom they offered the player.

There have been whispers of a remake with a new engine for over a decade, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

Hotline Miami. Them games were amazing. Every so often I check out the workshop and play whatever crazy shit people have modded in.

Don't know if anyone else has said this, but I would say Red Steel. I enjoyed both games when they first came out (especially Red Steel 2) and I really wanted a third game to release, but it never happened. I loved how the game mixed together Western and Eastern aesthetics, and Tom Salta's music for both games was fucking excellent (again, especially in Red Steel 2)

Custom Robo for sure. Maybe one day we'll have something like that in VR as well.

I'm going to say Fatal Frame. I know they are still slowly making them but none of them have had a physical release in the West in years and from what I understand even in Japan it's following is only just enough to keep them being produced every few years. It's a shame, really. Fatal Frame 2 is honestly up there with Silent Hill 2 in terms of being an amazing horror game, at least in my opinion.
