Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

Oldschool Phantasy Star.
This. The PS Online shit just doesn't cut it.

Even though PS IV essentially tied a bow on the series, I'd at least love a port of the updated remakes of PS 1 and 2 that came out only in Japan for the PlayStation 2, as well as the ones for PS 3 and 4 that got shitcanned.
My spirit animals. As for ports the Sega Collection has the phantasy star games on them but I’m unsure if they are the updated versions.

Goemon. Give me goddamn Goemon 64 on Switch
Banjo Kazooie bc fuck Xbox
Blame Rare, they're the ones with a stick up their ass about doing anything with their old IPs beyond merchandise. Microsoft themselves are more willing to show those IPs some attention, given that Killer Instinct, Battletoads, and now Perfect Dark are being revived through other developers.

I'm sure Banjo will get a new game for the Series consoles, I just doubt Rare will have anything to do with it.

Fallout. The third one was a disaster, but New Vegas was a fantastic romp that truly felt like a sequel worthy of the classics. Then 4 and that MMO travesty killed it with extreme prejudice.
I still hold out some hope we'll see another Fallout on the level of New Vegas again someday.

I miss Castlevania, I just one good game back from the series even as a final hoorah. *sigh*
I'd like to see either a "Battle of 1999" game finally or a third Soma Cruz entry.

I'd kill for a Battle of 1999 playing as Julius, that's all I want for Christmas.

What I thought they were going to do and what they should have done, was make a Battle of 1999 game, still 2D mind you, but as an HD console release on the PSN and XBLA arcade, sort of like Harmony of Despair, but as an all new game.

I've always wondered what the deal was with Harmony of Despair and if that was Konami "testing the waters" for something else that never came.

Might as well give an updated list....

1. Army Men
2. Dead or Alive
3. CarnEvil
4. Fallout
5. Darkstalkers
6. Grand Theft Auto (let's face it, GTA Online killed the actual GTA series at this point)
7. Saints Row
8. Time Crisis
9. Lethal Enforcers
10. Empire Earth
11. GUN
12. Dynasty Warriors
13. Rumble Roses

Speaking of Rare, how the hell did Blast Corps never become more of a thing? It even holds up today, which is really saying something by N64 standards.

Like I don't even know of anything that comes close to the general theme of knocking down buildings. Closest I've ever seen was Red Faction Guerilla, but that doesn't incorporate the same puzzle design that made Blast Corps what it was.

Super Mario RPG.
The original SNES game, not the bullshit that came after.
Same here. I couldn't care less about Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi. Tried to play them both, even Thousand Year Door which is apparently one of the best Gamecube games overall, couldn't get into it.

Super Mario RPG is like one of those bands that puts out one amazing album and disappears, and then a whole legion of cover bands come afterwards trying to replicate the magic of the first, but falling flat on their face.

The Arkham series. It ended on a fucking cliffhanger cop-out and I'm still salty about it. I had some great times playing Asylum during my Christmas holidays, in the dead of night with the wind howling outside. I still play it roughly once every two years.

Nope. Straight up ports.

There is a Sega Ages port of PS1 on the Switch that adds some quality of life tweaks like an in-game map

I forgot all about Rumble Roses, that was a fun series.
