Deadlock - An FPS MOBA by Valve.

Why is it called an FPS MOBA in the thread's title when it's a third person game?
It also:
  • compares it to Overwatch, Valorant, and Orcs Must Die,
  • says it's steampunk for some reason,
  • says it's like a tower defense game (i mean i GUESS),
  • says it draws inspiration from certain modern European cities (nigga it's 1920s new york)

    It should probably be updated.

You clearly have not played much, the more you play and win you're matched with better players and thougher games, despite not being a rank yet.

The game is collecting so much data right now, they're gonna have a much easier job when they decide to get into the beta stage of the game.
Unlike dota, I think it is much more fun, way more objective and easier to understand, and if dota players do not quit games it is because if you do, you will not get the reward items post game that you could sell, that being the reason alone why CS2 is still top game despite all criticisms from people who think they know better.
I'm at ~30 hours or so at the moment, but i'd still say around 40% of games ends with a leaver after 7 minutes. I can definitely tell that players are getting better (people countering melee and properly denying souls, etc), but the leaver problem still remains.
I can also tell you that the post-game rewards from dota is on average worth less than €0.01, so that is absolutely not what keeps them there. The actual reason is that you leave 2 games in a row and you get low prio. If you've spent >1k hours ranking up, you're not just gonna make a new account when you get low priority, so the only people that do leave early are people that lose their internet connection or account buyers.
This game is so new that the most amount of hours anyone could have is 100-200 on the high end, so a lot of people who come to try it out don't really give a fuck about rank and will probably just permanently drop the game if they leave enough to get low prio.

With that said, it's definitely more fun than dota. Perhaps I'm just getting tired of the hyper-competitiveness of ASSFAGGOTS-games but I'm enjoying my general deadlock-experience more than dota for sure.

The game has been around for months prior to the embargo dropping, over a thousand hours is completely possible.
My experience at around 80 hours is less than 10% leavers.

Didn't have a leaver for 10 ish games.
Most of the games are group queue, so that might influence the outcome.
They will probably add a behaviour score system in the future, just as in Dota 2.
Bad scores will effect your queue time, communication functions like voice and text chat or even pings. In addition you will be matched with people of a similar score.

Valve's name is the only reason anyone cares about it.

If any other company was making this I'd immediately write it off and I think so would most people, it looks like a dime a dozen hero arena moba shooter whatever thing, completely uninspired character designs, no real gameplay hook and "okay" gameplay.

Nothing I've seen of this game makes it seem much different from battleborn, smite or overwatch, except with a valve logo on them.

The DEI involvement and the theythems ontop of everything else are just another guarentee there's no soul in this so there's no reason to get invested in the characters either.

Honestly if you hadn't told me this was made by valve I wouldn't have guessed in a million years. Valve are trend setters, not trend chasers.

You are stupid.

By your (retarded) logic, Artifact should have never failed in the first place.
You mention overwatch when in deadlock you have to grind/farm in order to get powerful, while in overwatch everyone has its abilities ready to use and need to stack to 100% to use your ultimate.

You're probably an Emplemon fan lmao.

>Added an initial Anti-Cheat detection system. When a user is detected as cheating, during the game session the opponents will be given a choice between banning the user immediately and ending the match or turning the cheater into a frog for the rest of the game and then banning them afterwards.

Valve has always commited to fight cheaters, and compared to other companies they are the most transparent one, i rarely would question valve's resolution when they ban an user.

All add-ons and custom updates where and will still come, again they have so much meta data to work with so they integrate them eventually while both players adapt to the game and staff understands where they must lead to game to.

but this: >Orbs now appear a little smaller to the enemy that is trying to deny them
i'm not sure about it, it should be a 50/50 on each side, but at the same time deadlock does not want to be Dota, so im neutral to this change.

also: >Guardians now deal 10% more damage to players
guardians are dogshit, unlike dota/lol you cannot rely to stay under the guardian/tower, you have to better than your adversary, i welcome this change.

PD: how do i green text?

>quickcasting
>can tell dyno and viscious apart finally
yuge
>kevin rape beam nerfed
so over
snow balls deal much more damage and have more gameplay impact, it is not optimal to rely much on kelvin's beam but agree the nerf hurs the character.

PD Update, never mind:
- Kelvin: Headshot bonus damage reduced by 20%
- Kelvin: Bullet damage growth reduced from 1.2 to 0.9
- Kelvin: Arctic Beam movement slow reduced from 70% to 50%
- Kelvin: Moving through breakables while on Ice Path now destroys them

WHAT THE FUCK, Kelvin is far from top character what was the necessity of all these changes.

The new character is so aids.

-Pajeet
-Ability 1 is Wraith Ult - can be used as a pretty good escape since it gives you bullet evasion
-Ability 2 are missiles that steal max HP from enemy champs
-Ability 3 is his bread and butter - basically an Infernus 3 without the DOT. Enemies take damage when the mark is expired and are revealed on the map
-Ability 4 is a global teleport that can target enemies and allies. Gives increased move speed and fire rate after teleporting.

I can win fights with just his Ability 1 and Ability 3. So far his only downside is his abysmal starting game.

And they are like the only ones that don't rape your computer while attempting to reduce cheating.

Whoever is responsible for making Haze sound like a bootleg Sylvanas should respectfully fire himself.
She was believable as a grizzled veteran that's tired of stacking bodies her whole life, now she sounds young and hot and like Phantom Assassin without the accent.

I'm liking the haze nerf, also the alt cast on seven is funny. It's literally just an infernus ult but on a shorter cooldown.
edit: I edited an old seven build of mine. Basically max out 3 and then 2. And apply reach and duration on 2 and cooldown and power surge on 3. What you'll get is basically a perma 3 with a big stun. VERY USEFUL as a kamikazi initation.

New update has fixed the performance for me. I used to drop into single digit fps from various abilities such as Kevin's snowglobe. But to balance it out now the game randomly crashes out half the server at once lol.
