There was a rare case a few days ago of the opposite happening. The Punisher is becoming War Machine in the comics and Neogaf, naturally, reeeed about it. Because it's just a comic, I don't think it got to woke black Twitter.

You'd think they'd be more upset that War Machine only had a suit in the movies because black dudes steal shit.

They made Blind Al a destitute black coke addict and she was glorious in the first movie. The first movie proved they can shit gold and they have earned a bit of benefit of the doubt.

who the fuck cares? i'm not the person who gives a shit when a person's race changes in a movie or show from what the original source had, all that matters is how good they act. the last airbender movie didnt suck because the character's races changed, but because it had bad writing and bad acting. ghost in a shell didnt suck because the robot was white, it was because....well actually i didnt think that movie was all that bad actually. likewise, hamilton isnt great because "diversity" or whatever....the music is catchy. i like the music. it's nice. in conclusion, everyone needs to shut the fuck up and accept the death worm will swallow us within the next 2000 years

plus deadpool was a good movie so the second one should be fine too.

edit: Beyond that, IDGAF. The only race swaps that ever bugged me were Nick Fury, since the US Army didn't even integrate until 1948, and the upcoming version of Roland Deschain in The Gunslinger. And that last being because of how making him black messes with Sussanah/Detta/Odetta's character development than it does anything else. Though it now looks like that movie is going to be a train wreck, whoever was playing Roland.

Having just seen Atomic Blonde, I'm sure this movie will be great. I couldn't care less about some D-list comic book character's race being changed, it has no impact on her backstory and doesn't conflict with anything, unlike a certain Stephen King movie coming out soon.

David Leich is a good director who knows how to shoot action scenes and if you're seriously worried about this movie being a SJW mess, you should watch Atomic Blonde.
 
As usual nowadays, they do things poorly and shittily on purpose. This could have been done better.
 
My problem is that if feels like the movie's creative team didn't even try to make her look like the character. She looks more like Misty Knight or if you added more white and it was the other side of the face, she could be a black Typhoid Mary (she's got the hair to be the Frank Miller version). The laziness annoys me.

I'm shocked that many nerds cared about domino anyway. She wasn't super interesting. Her main thing was being cables bitch back in the 90's anyway. I could defiantly see typhoid mary for that actress though. just paint the whole side of her face white.
