Damn, my dox have been obtained by autogynephiles and other degenerates. Those IP addresses and that email were totally tied to my real location and identity. They're coming for me.

I always knew it was going to end this way. I live at 14 Branchland Court, Ruckersville, VA 22968, and I am fully armed with a keyboard which I will use to call you the wrong pronouns and retards. Μολὼν λαβέ, deviants.

:jaceknife:

Mail: black... and your Ip thats all there was to it ... If you think about it objectively, there is actually nothing else of value that could have been leaked besides maybe the passwords and even that would be pointless if null did a rollback and mass account locking.
And if it wasn't hosted here then how many panicked users would end up clicking on some random links they find and downloading release1.zip.exe? We already saw some sketchy links floating around.

I made it on the list!

I wanna thank my parents for always believing I'd be a huge disappointment

To be honest, I wouldn't have necessarily cared if literally any other user posted this information. I get that it's public. It's out there. It's never going away. That's fine.

But it's the fucking principle of the thing. A huge reason why I remain on KF, despite all of the risks, is because I've always felt that my identity would be kept secure and that I wouldn't need to worry about my data being freely offered to the world. And the fact that this leak is currently being hosted on the front page of the website -- based on the results of a poll that was voted in by an incredibly small fraction of the userbase -- doesn't do much for my faith in the security of this website.

And it's a shame, because the several people who do share in these concerns are unable to voice them without a chorus of autists screeching at them about how they must have "something to hide."

I couldn't have worded this better if I spent two hours trying to do so. That's the issue for me as well, it's hypocritical in my opinion. For so long all this talk about protecting user information (new zealand, other occasions) and the minute we're compromised, the goal posts are moved. I get that the information is out there already, but like you said, it's the principle of the matter and sudden heel-turn, based on 173 votes is a little disappointing to me.

If you have principles, stick to them.

Jep i give null a solid 7/10 for how he handled this, points obviously deducted for the lack of Consluts

If you have principals, stick to them.

What about the principle of "information should be free", for example keeping the Tarrant shooting video up? Not to mention the pearl-clutching over it on this fucking website of all places is hypocritical to the extreme.

Not even getting into the fact that treating this list like it has everyone's phone and address on it when what it actually has on it isn't even enough to get anyone's irl info unless they used an email account with their real name in it like a fucking mongoloid is retarded as fuck in and of itself.

For anyone who used more of a general spam email to register or even their real email you will want to go to have I been pwned and opt out of public searches. Not that it'll protect you but the dox data here is kind of meaningless. There might be more information tied to that email address out there though. If I was pissed at someone on this list I'd reference the email I collected here against their database to see if I should look up any other leaks with actual information.

what if Null just up and decided to post everyone's email and IP for no reason? what is the difference to doing this?

Almost all of the people that are seeing this info now is because Null put it up on the front page.

Context.

Almost all of the people that are seeing this info now is because Null put it up on the front page.

The alternative would be acting like it didn't happen, meanwhile the people who were affected would have no idea it happened.
