Too late @Null, now Chris has a list of people to exclude from getting merged into Cartoon World. Now we're all gonna die, I hope you're happy.Okay, it's gone. I fixed it.
Mail: black... and your Ip thats all there was to it ... If you think about it objectively, there is actually nothing else of value that could have been leaked besides maybe the passwords and even that would be pointless if null did a rollback and mass account locking.I'm not worried about my location being leaked if that's all that happened
And if it wasn't hosted here then how many panicked users would end up clicking on some random links they find and downloading release1.zip.exe? We already saw some sketchy links floating around.Mail: black... and your Ip thats all there was to it ... To be honest, I wouldn't have necessarily cared if literally any other user posted this information. I get that it's public. It's out there. It's never going away. That's fine.
But it's the fucking principle of the thing. A huge reason why I remain on KF, despite all of the risks, is because I've always felt that my identity would be kept secure and that I wouldn't need to worry about my data being freely offered to the world. And the fact that this leak is currently being hosted on the front page of the website -- based on the results of a poll that was voted in by an incredibly small fraction of the userbase -- doesn't do much for my faith in the security of this website.
And it's a shame, because the several people who do share in these concerns are unable to voice them without a chorus of autists screeching at them about how they must have "something to hide."
Jep i give null a solid 7/10 for how he handled this, points obviously deducted for the lack of ConslutsAnd if it wasn't hosted here then how many panicked users would end up clicking on some random links they find and downloading release1.zip.exe? We already saw some sketchy links floating around.
Congrats im jelly and i neither use vpn nor socksI made it on the list!
I wanna thank my parents for always believing I'd be a huge disappointment
I couldn't have worded this better if I spent two hours trying to do so. That's the issue for me as well, it's hypocritical in my opinion. For so long all this talk about protecting user information (new zealand, other occasions) and the minute we're compromised, the goal posts are moved. I get that the information is out there already, but like you said, it's the principal of the matter and sudden heel-turn, based on 173 votes is a little disappointing to me.
If you have principals, stick to them.
That's quiet the name you have there, guessing thats not ASCII relatedImagine signing up to some random shitpost forum that gets l33t haxx0rs throwing themselves at it every several months and using your real name and email.
what if Null just up and decided to post everyone's email and IP for no reason? what is the difference to doing this?
Almost all of the people that are seeing this info now is because Null put it up on the front page.
