Dealing with the compromise

lol
we joke, but iirc, there was a user here who said they signed with a .gov email
can't remember their username, so i can't check if it was leaked or not. anyways rip
That's fucking hilarious if true, I wonder what department they were in? I know with military emails each branch uses a unique naming format, but I don't know if other gov agencies or law enforcement do that too.

I posted this in the main thread, but I feel it's more appropiate here for opsec purposes. This thread gives good advice that everyone should follow.

However:

Another protip for pro-Kiwis use the version of release1.zip that Null hosted on the farms itself. I cannot begin to explain how many CVE''s (essentially vulnerabilities) that WinRAR has (I can recommend uninstalling that garbage and replacing it with 7zip instead). There's also several possible other vectors. DO NOT open the file that was uploaded to uploadfiles.io (by the hacker(s), even though the thread is gone the link is still out there) - use Nulls public version.

Stay safe, lads.

I can only pray I don't get an email sent to my Funimation email address. That would be Totes bad ok?
They got my @funimation.com email. I expect a strongly worded email in my inbox in the future.

Awww mate, I think they might have got your Funimation address. You were too busy beating a dead horse to notice so I thought I'd let you know.

I hope their posts are read in a court of law out loud, and they have to explain, in great detail, what constitutes a lolcow.

i hope their username is something like niggertard and i hope they mention it in court

i also hope this is true and honest fam, they sounded pretty serious

Null said people did during the last great email panic, January 2017. I think those accounts were legit nuked during another email panic unless changed. Basically, this isn’t the first ip/email panic and we’re still here.

What gets me is it seems they didn't even try and go for passwords. Emails are useless without the account password since you can just login using your username.
If they were going for actual account hacking then they've fucked up waiting to release the other files if there are more. This ip/email leak alerted everyone so it's too late to launch some breaking and entering ops. People are already swapping passwords and changing emails.
This is truly is some top tier autism.

Wow I didn't think I was that important lol. Who would be dumb enough to use a gov or edu email. I assumed we all had burner emails
Those accounts were pre 2017, from a more innocent time.
Honestly if you're dumb enough to use an actual email and zero security measures to sign up to this website you deserve whatever sped comes knocking at your door. Theres a whole damn thread dedicated to not being this inept on the internet
This thread is such a good resource it’s been cited by academic journals.
