Dealing with the compromise

When I try to reverse lookup what I think are ipv6 addresses, no results are returned. I tried a couple different lookup sites and a couple different addresses from the ipout file. What am I doing wrong?

About the happenings; what was with the "Nothing has happened today" header just before the site went down? Was that a weirdly timed joke?

It was Null making fun of people in the Weeb wars forum who were sperging about Vic's TCPA hearing as if it was the end of the world.

@Null I appreciate the transparency you have shown throughout this; Also please correct me if I am wrong here, but if your IP and Email (why did some of you oldfags not use a burner?) was actually compromised: can't you call up your IP to have it changed, change your Email to a burner, and then wouldn't everything be fine?

Some of the outrage here that they have been doxxed and expected Null to be perfect just seems so... pathetic to me. Honestly there is a part of me that feels like you deserve it if you took so little care of your own privacy, or even didn't take action afterwards.

I noticed I said "phones" were compromised in the OP and I have no idea why I said that. Emails and DoBs are, phones are not collected anywhere on the site.
Great. I had convinced everyone I was only 115 years old and now they all know I was actually born in the year 1900.
Fun thing to do is search IP geo location for users that have the same first two or three octets of your public facing IP, they'll likely be in your general area! Then you can have a good old KF meet up, and maybe even date and get married~
I doubt any of them are qt twinks. They never are.

Yeah, you're right; Dear god people actually did that, didn't they? :drink:
No, there was no .mil, .edu, .gov emails in the leaks. Lots of boomertards with @aol.com and many dumbasses with @gmail.com. Anyone that trust Google with their burner emails deserves to be shamed as google owes everything that goes on in that account and if they want to find you they will.

I've been trying to make some new lolcow.emails to link to accounts and replace this ones, but the site keeps running into errors whenever I finish filling out the captcha. Anyone else having this issue?
I did the same when I signed up here. Ended up having to use some other email provider that doesn't know who I am. I used to have a lolcow.email, so I know it worked at some point...

I'm not outraged, but I have the benefit of being aware of the Vordrak incident in 2017 before joining and taking security more seriously than some of the older founders may have. I think some of the earliest members joined thinking it would be a jokey fun forum experience like SA when it was good(disclaimer: I am aware it was never good), and not realizing that someday crazed troons would be doxing people back and knocking on administrator's front doors. It's all a matter of perspective, and I lurked 9 months before deciding how to sign up and use the site "safely." I can sympathze with some people having more legacy problems than I.

That is a fair point, I might be influenced by the fact that when I signed up IN GIANT RED LETTERS it warned it was the point of no return and then helpfully told me exacty what to do to help protect myself such as a burner account. I probably should consider the sign up being that helpfull might have not always been fhe case.

Sometimes ISPs won't do this for you (change yoru static IP on request) if your subscription is only a pleb residential-tier account. I imagine if you have a really shitty ISP in a potato country or something they might refuse to do it, period. In that case you could close/open a new ISP account, or move. Either would get you a new static IP lol 😗
