-Superman beat Goku
-DC embarrasses themselves over and over with monumental failures, including, but not limited to, “I’m not Starfire”, Teen Titans Go, Ezra Miller being kept on after his crime spree, Jared Leto Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey, and Batgirl ending up being cancelled.
-Manga outperforms comics to the point where Demon Slayer alone outsold the entire comics industry, let alone DBZ, with Goku ending the Super anime by mastering Ultra Instinct to beat an orphaned alien superhero in a spandex suit.

-Yang beats Tifa
-RWBY ends up failing to the point where 75% of the fanbase are shippers and hentai artists.
-Final Fantasy ends up getting into Smash Bros. twice, and the FF7 Remake at one point being the highest selling game on Steam.

-Tracer beats Scout
-Overwatch 1 gets shut down to make room for a sequel that doesn’t add much, which is dying because of how toxic and unfun it is.
-TF2 is still going strong even without a major update in years, with memes and content still being made to this day.

-Voltron beats Megazord
-Legendary Defender ended in a way that felt like a middle finger to the fandom, with one character’s treatment seeming actually racist.
-Power Rangers gets to it’s 30 year anniversary, with Netflix releasing a 55 minute MMPR reunion special called Once and Always and a crossover with Godzilla in the comic book series.

-Thor beats Vegeta
-Thor: Love and Thunder flops due to over-reliance on comedy and weak plot, ends with Thor adopting the child of a man who abducted children and slaughtered Gods.
-Dragon Ball Super Hero, a movie that Vegeta doesn’t even star in, not only pulls in box office numbers for anime movies not seen since when Pokémon: The First Movie came to theaters, but also ended with Vegeta beating Goku, albeit barely.

Ironic. They won, but at what cost?

I think you’re putting a little too much stock into this.

And now, time to bring 2022 to a close.
Why does this even exist? Vegito lasts longer and has canon backing, and the only people interested in seeing it are DBZ fans who already know the answer. Not saying it’s bad, but it’s unnecessary and there were plenty of other MUs that deserved the finale slot more.

What do you mean? I’m just pointing out that it’s strange that at least 5 episodes feature the winner’s series gaining monumental failures in the future and the loser going on to have prosperity and success.

I just think it’s kind of a weird flex, especially since your first three examples are some of the most contested/disliked episodes the series has ever had. It just feels like a way to say “my side lost the battle but won the war” type of deal, especially since those things you talk about can’t say their future fates were tied to Death Battle.

But that’s just me.

Okay, fellas, they are gonna announce the season opener on next Death Battle Cast. While we wait, why don’t we discuss what MU we all want to see and what it brings to the table?

Me personally, I would enjoy seeing Owen Grady from Jurassic World VS Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead. It would be a nice change of pace to see two people who aren’t superpowered gods. They could also make the Zombies fight the Dinosaurs in the background. Animals can’t be turned into walkers, so this would be a much more fair fight. As for who wins? Probably Owen. He was in the Navy, while Rick was a sheriff. Rick gets outclassed. Also, Owen has some superhuman stuff like waking up from Dino tranquilizer quickly and surviving being enveloped in a Pyroclastic Flow in Fallen Kingdom.

I kind of get why they chose these two since they are both smart mouthed little engineering mammalians from outer space but its comically one-sided. Stitch is smarter, faster and stronger than Rocket and nigh on invincible. And that's only information from his first movie, he got even stronger with the other movies, TV show and animes. He really needs an opponent tougher than a raccoon who is a little stronger and smarter than an average human with guns that shouldn't even tickle Stitch.

And who do you propose?
