Lynch, like most of America, would probably say "What the fuck is Gamergate?"
 
Yeah the problem with Brianna is, even though what he says is either lies or meaningless waffle, it actually sounds articulate. He needs to be nailed on the details and specifics, in a format that he cannot hand-wave away. He's sufficiently savvy to realise this will be curtains for him, so even if by some miracle he did end up in contention for the election, he'll wriggle out of it

I agree that Brianna is slimy, but Lynch has been doing this a long time. It’s politics, a field where Brianna becomes the little sociopath fish in a big pond of people willing to tear her to shreds.

If Lynch does debate her, then his staff needs only to read her Twitter to see her hand. Extra points if they come here or check out the LOLcow wiki.

Brianna’s lies get bigger, the more confident she gets. Remember how she told Inc. Magazine how she experienced sexism while working on an engineering team? Any literate idiot could look at the facts and see that no, she was a GameStop cashier. Never an engineer. And the sexism? Coworkers excluding her from something they were doing together as friends because she wasn’t their friend.

The lying about managing past engineering teams has only gotten bigger since then. It never happened. She has no skills nor any qualifications. Even the “game” she made was the result of other people’s work.

Catching her lies is easy. Throwing her off balance will be easy.

For her part, she would try to keep Lynch on the defensive. Focus on trans rights. Focus on Iraq. It makes no sense because of the office they’re running for, but she’s certain it will work. She doesn’t give a shit about dustrict 8 and is trying to elevate the election to national issues.

All Lynch has to do to throw her off is to have someone ask her about an important district topic she’s not actually familiar with

"What do you think are the most pressing issues for the people of the district you wish to represent, and how do you specifically plan to address them?"

Realistically, I imagine we'd just get some general, vague rambling about the economy and jobs. None of which would actually mean anything since they have no plans.

Wu benefits from a polite society that makes questioning her credentials socially unacceptable. Lolcow stuff and tweets are off limits for the same reason but also because they'd simply illicit confusion for most people and almost certainly offend soccer moms and color-hairs. Wu on the other hand can paint Lynch negatively by simply referring to the hated status quo.

If Wu can keep the debate off of specifics and keep everything about vague topics she can prevail in a debate. However, I don't know how important debates actually are but I doubt she'd even get to talk much in a debate anyway due to the number of candidates.
 
My guess is any debate involving Wu gets a bomb threat called in. Wu would say it was from Gamergate, use it as an excuse not to go while talking about how they're still after her even though she 'beat them' while secretly hoping she disguised her voice enough that if there's a recording of the threat it couldn't be traced to her.
