Debate user @CyrusHowler on why playing a game is better than watching someone else do it - Explain to him why cuckoldry is bad

If I'm gonna watch someone play a game, they have to be actually good at the game and be interesting or funny to listen to.

Northernlion and Tomato are honestly the only streamers i can tolerate.

I watch lets plays of games that I find interesting but have a high skill ceiling to the point where I’d rather watch someone good at the game play it rather than play it myself and get frustrated.

But getting frustrated then overcoming that frustration and completing whatever section you struggled through is what actually makes playing games feel worthwhile.

When it comes to the classic games that are truly awesome, such as the original Fallouts, there is no substitute for playing yourself. You can't experience these masterpieces second hand and expect to get the same experience out of it.

When it comes to most of the garbage being produced these days, I think the challenge is trying to justify playing them at all. Even if the game is marginally good, do you really want to spend the money to buy a high-end computer, spend more money on the game, still never get to actually own a copy because you are just paying for a "license" to download it from Steam, have all sorts of shady "copy protection" and "anti-cheat" malware unwillingly installed on your system and still need to shell out even more money for DLC content that they slowly dole out over time when most of that stuff should have been in the original game?

Or do you just let some other fool endure all of that, then laugh at him on YouTube when he gets killed every ten minutes trying to get through the game? Yeah, it may still not be as much fun as if you got to play the game yourself, but it's free, it won't place malware on your system and after it's over you can go back to playing the classics you already own and remind yourself the new stuff is crap anyway.

when playing a game you type buttons and see things happening on screen

when you watch someone else play you merely type less butoons before to search ofr a video and watch thinhs happening on a screen the same way
how can you argue this are not the same?
