Debate user Null about recent changes to Autism Thunderdome

Agree to Disagree
I've emphasized that users should agree to disagree and linked the Ignore User page on those boards.
This is a mistake. Your retard users are a bunch of SJWs and see agreement as a sign of weakness to destroy.

I am permitting all stickers again.
This is also a mistake. Your retard users do not deserve your courtesy.

Mass Debates
Not a great name.

Otherwise good luck. I can't wait for @Absolutego to commit suicide.

I take it the "mass debate" will be a containment board within what was already a containment board.
A russian nesting doll full of autism?

In the alternative, it may be worthwhile to have a separate section for opinion pieces. A garbage filter, for things like this:

"Halo tries to celebrate sodomy, Niggers most affected."
Aside from having a laugh at idiotic journos, there's nothing to be gained from these articles.
No reasonable discussion to be held, no insight to be gained. It's bottom-feeder detritus.

In terms of moderation problems with this subforum, I'd say LasPak had a point with regards to permabans.
Pareto principle applies; it's a tiny number of retards doing most of the screeching. Cutting out the utmost obstructive users would probably make moderation a whole lot easier.

And yet no one can agree on who those retards are. It's never the same answer. Everyone thinks everyone else is retarded, get mad about it.

>Waah I can't handle not looking at retards daddy please forcibly remove them from my hugbox

It really isn't complicated. If you're constantly picking fights with other users, you're probably an asshole.
Especially when that's your sole "contribution" to the forum.
I think it's completely fair to let these people be assholes somewhere else. Go shit up twitter and facebook.

I never thought I'd see the day. I hope the Reddit fags who see them as Up/Downvote buttons don't cause drama over their fucking Karma number again.

Nooooooo the wholesome disagree sticker is gone forever :(
I liked that sticker a lot too. I see stickers as mini-replies, not post ratings, and I appreciated a "good post but I don't think you're right" option.

This solution seems to be a milder version of my idea of making Happenings like Version 2 of the Community Happenings thread, where only on topic informative posts were allowed, and a separate thread was for commentary. I don't think I actually had any influence on the change, but I am happy with the direction.

There are threads where I'm interested in the subject, but not so interested in the commentary. Like the Ukraine War, I don't keep up with the thread cause it's such a heated subject, and the arguments over army performance and who is the bag guy fill it with too much chaff.

I hope these changes have a positive influence on this section of the forum and ease some of your animosity of those that use it.

Press the ignore button as Dear Feeder has asked. That's not complicated either. Otherwise start naming names so I can prove a point: it's always something personal and there's almost never overlap with other users' answers. I think someone got you buttmad by not letting you win an argument.

I don't waste time arguing with retards.
But feel free to prove whatever point you're trying to make, if it makes you feel important...

Regarding the first point about op-eds, almost everything submitted to A&N is an op-ed of one form or another, it's just a question of whether the journo in question is willing to admit it. Policing submissions based on what the source claims it is would be excessive. And, reading that thread, I see an OP the user put effort into making look good and people having fun in the comments. No one is forcing you, personally, to participate, and you're free to peruse threads more germane to your interests.

Regarding the second point about permabans, they aren't off the table, but the number of people who prove utterly unwilling to treat this forum as more than a dumping ground for flame wars in lieu of the kind of argumentation more intended for this board is much smaller than the number of users who just haven't lurked enough and can be encouraged to adopt to site culture. Jumping to mass permas right off the bat just invites users to view moderators as hostile and increase the amount of tension on the site.
