I don't think most people fully understand just how life-threatening a fistfight can be. Violence brings with it unpredictable outcomes. A lot of very bad things can happen when a human skull meets hard pavement, for example, or when a simple choke hold goes badly wrong. I once shared a hospital room after a (thankfully minor) car accident with a guy who had been body-slammed in a bar fight. Poor bastard came *this close* to being paralyzed for life.

And yes, I watched Ethan Ralph take that beatdown in Lisbon and laughed about it at the time, but it was wrong for me to laugh about it. Given that Ralph had already suffered previous head trauma from a brutal mugging only a few months before, he was very, very lucky he didn't end up in a coma or on a slab.
