What is the best class?

The game is growing, and I've had a couple cheaters enter my games. Both times it's been unlimited ammo/no reload exploit. Elf behavior, and they get the boot. You can tell they are cheating because their ammo count never drops.
I joined an Escort lobby where a bunch of Chinese players were using 1-hit kills.
On Haz 2.

Tolerated it because it was a weekly assignment, and they still went down at least once due to fall damage from the heartstone shockwaves.

I started playing this one with a few friends at the start of the year. Definitely feels like the weekly game that's actually got a decent live service. I might buy the pack if it works with gamepass. As a side note, being able to play with friends on pc gamepass while i rock on console definitely is dope. Being able to chat with them through discord also helps.
I look forward to just playing more of this game.

It's really special when a player enters my game and behaves like a cunt, and it is the exception, not the rule. Never seen a game with such a decent community.
I was surprised how chill most people are. I'm about 500 hours in because no life and the only bad stuff I've seen are the occasional sweaty "MUST BE PROMOTED OR KICK" lobbies

I have been playing for 130ish hours now. And you already mentioned it, but it is always the "veteran" players that with sweaty must be so-and-so lobbies or shitty behavior. Never the green beards or intermediate players. But it is a fresh breath of air how seldom such occurrence is compared to every other MP focused game.

What's this talk about jetpacks? Apparently a dev said they were going to be a thing then another dev walked it back
The Season 4 Roadmap has "but we are really excited about jetpacks" line in the Undecided Stuff section. It was confirmed in the Anniversary stream that its just a funny like how while Notch was running Minecraft "Removed Herobrine" was in each patch note. Jetpacks would completely invalidate all other traversal tools but have still been a suggestion by the community essentially since day 1 and its poking fun at that.

That said Support Tools are the only equipment to not get new versions yet and maybe they are looking at making alternate traversal tools as the new equipment for Season 4. But obviously not jetpacks. Since new enemies are confirmed we might get an enemy type using a jetpack and so the devs can go "Well we added jetpacks to the game :^)".

You have not lived until you've been stoned out of your mind playing gunner clearing out hordes of glyphids in Hollow Bough tunnels with CCR blasting, that's how you chill out goblin mode, felt like I was in Vietnam. I may not directly help out my team but my rampages probably reduce the amount of aliens to kill. Gunner best class

I got super burned out after season 2 got like 630 hours right now but haven't touched it since like a week into season 3 but the memes on MATI are making me want to get back into it

Season 2 felt like they were treading water. A worse version of S1. Don't really know what they were thinking. That's when I also took a small break. S3 is pretty good.

Would jetpacks really improve the game? I'm not sure. Hopefully a joke.

I'd like to see some kind of random, slightly rare, "natural event" where you get double/triple the wave size, or an Elite Bulk Detonator spawn. This could be based on your playtime as a group, so as you get more and more hours in the game these events are more likely to occur. Sort of like how a dreadnought can spawn, but it should be tied to hours played, so more hours played the greater the chances of this happening, perhaps this could be coupled with the selection of Haz 5 difficulty level, in case some people don't like these types of freak events.

I was playing a salt pits haz 5 mining mission with an "elite" warning and this Elite bulk spawned and it was a literal terror. Very fast, and we have no open rooms to fight it in just narrow tunnels, neurotoxin barely slowed it. It was worse than a dreadnought. It broke our group apart and summarily executed each of us. It was a fun loss though! Everyone was like "what the heck was that man!?" and wanted to dive back in to see if we could fight it again. As your hour count creeps up I think the game needs more of these moments where you're reminded there are really big/dangerous things lurking in the depths of the planet, and survival isn't always guaranteed...

Great idea. That system could also factor in mission failures, time since you last played, or other factors so as not to punish certain types of players, like those with high playtime who haven't played in years and are very rusty.

I never really liked the Cryo Cannon for driller. My thinking was "I've frozen a bunch of enemies, but I can't actually kill them all quickly before they unfreeze, so what?" I often found myself running out of drill fuel trying to drill frozen glyphids. I've tried snowball, ice spear, tuned cooler, but never really enjoyed them. Instead I went for a more damage oriented build, it plays more like an angry Mel Gibson Santa, and less like friendly Tim Allen Santa who can freeze bugs but not actually kill them all.

This plays more like a flamethrower, and even though the freezing power is very low I can still freeze a Bulk Detonator/Dreadnoughts on Haz 5 (have to aim at the ground a bit to get the extra freezing from the ground ice). You can pretty much shoot forever though. In practice it is much easier to get the vampire procs with this build because I can actually damage a frozen enemy down to low health with the Cryo Cannon, and just tap it once/twice with the drills if I need health. I don't need to switch to my secondary to do good damage either, because Ice Storm multiplies the damage a lot on frozen enemies. Regular grunts are vaporized in short order. The only con I've found is that I can't freeze as many mactera as easily, and usually kill them before freezing them (unless I'm close to them and the AOE freezing kicks in). If there are too many mactera, I will cook a HE Grenade, and throw it so it air bursts into the middle of the pack, it will take out a couple, and fear the rest, preventing them from shooting you to death. Alternatively drop a C4 (have to have AOE stun picked on it), Dash perk away, then trigger it to stun everything, and give more breathing room.

Overclock: Mega Power Supply

Base Ammo: 500

Since the Ice Storm overclock incentivizes NOT switching to a secondary weapon on frozen bugs (it ramps up damage on frozen enemies), I speccd out the wave cooker WITHOUT Exothermic Reactor/Temperature amplifier, and instead went with Boiler Ray + slow, something I've never really used much. It's surprisingly good at deleting swarmers, and with the wide angle lens turned on you can delete the flying swarmers easily as well, this conserves our precious Cryo Cannon ammo for more important targets. The boiler ray explosion does good damage (100 explosion; 2.5m radius), and you can take out a good number of grouped up grunts from long distance if you get lucky procs of Boiler Ray (target the basic Glyphid grunt). With the Mega Power Supply overclock you can use your secondary liberally, and combined with HE grenades you can kill most larger swarms before they get into Cryo Cannon range (terrain permitting). You know Boiler Ray has proc'd, because little spikes shoot out of the enemy as it explodes, and this damages nearby enemies. This is more noticeable on a pack of swarmers, because you'll shoot one or two swarmers and then suddenly the whole group dies.

You can really rack up the kills, and if you get used to using your secondary weapon more like a primary weapon (+ cooked HE grenades), I don't find myself starving for ammunition. (If you haven't tried HE grenades since they added the ability to cook grenades DO IT! Very fun getting them to air burst on walls and ceilings) If you are flush with ammo you can just throw yourself into a swarm and kill everything with the Cryo Cannon, everything dies, Oppressors, Praetorians, doesn't matter. (don't forget to shoot the feet of the enemy).

So if you never really liked Cryo Cannon, give this a try. If you do, let me know what you think.

I usually roll with the flamethrower when I play driller but the new Subata bullets got me messing around with the Sludge cannon and this is what I've been using. The sludge one click deletes them lil aliens and can facemelt praetorians in like 3 with DoT if I'm being lazy and don't go for the weakpoint with the secondary, which is mostly for stray glyphids between swarms and for squaring up against angry dudes trying to take mattresses out of my dumpster.

Inshallah, I will stop the United States from playing On Site Refining in Sandblasted Corridors.

Y'know, props to Ghost Ship for not removing certain cosmetics because people can make certain drip like this. They probably know people will create stuff like this nonetheless and, while they're probably not happy, they considered not drawing too much attention to it.

I've seen a hitler getup so far, was pretty funny. My second favorite is the doctor eggman dwarf

Also seen a Hulk Hogan

Few other games have the balls to drop a bossfight on you in the middle of an otherwise normal mission. The utter horror when I hear MC announce a dreadnaught spawn in haz 5 (or even an EDD) is unmatched.

I don't know how many there are, but one of the unstable overclocks for cyro massively boosts damage, while taking away max ammo and freeze time longer. It feels fucking great, you can effectively solo a praetorian in 35-ish ammo units/one full blast start to finish, with it freezing solid at half its life. Sometimes to conserve ammo I'll switch to the wave cooker while frozen to finish it off, or just ease off the trigger if other teammates want kill credit on a frozen enemy. It hits Oppressors pretty hard too. If you get it(or already have it) it's worth trying out. And I basically never drain my ammo dry on the cryo.

but that voice must be what activates my MKULTRA programming, it just makes me see red.
Apologize to my waifu right now
