Culture 'DEI' just a 'pseudonym' for racial slur: CNN expert - DEI means nigger

Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross said what many have thought in recent days as Republicans flock to insult Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris as a "DEI hire," among other thinly veiled race-based attacks.

“America has awoken around what this is,” Cross told a CNN panel Tuesday night. “It is being used as a pseudonym for the n-word when we're talking about black people.”

The rhetoric around DEI has been framed as a racist dog whistle by critics, but figureheads such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have expanded it to include white women, such as Kimberly Cheatle, the former head of the Secret Service, who resigned Tuesday amid criticism of her agency's handling of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

“I think there's something to be said about a push to isolate women and minority groups,” Cross said. “You are attacking so many people that are not heterosexual white men under one umbrella and I don't think Americans are going to sail for that.”
