Feedback Delete Events & News

Call me crazy, but what if we made deliberately being a cock in the name of trying to stir up bullshit forum drama between retards a ban-worthy offense?
Because it seems like every few weeks, someone does something obvious in the name of starting an autist turf war, usually over politics, usually by popping into threads they don't like and being a faggot. And it usually works.
If you have people whose sole focus in posting is to shit up threads, fucking kick them from those threads.
It's not even Events and News, it's that you faggots can't stand someone disagreeing with you so you pop into threads to derail them trying to win imaginary points against other /pol/ dwelling neckbeards.

users should just utilize the dumb and off topics ratings, grow the fuck up and not get baited into engaging and move on in the discussion.

Of course they should, but they won't, because half of them are exceptional.
So then it becomes a question of "do we really want every third thread to turn into edgy alt right faggots laughing at mewling whiny libtards who are in turn laughing at them?"
It's fucking embarrassing as a forum.

lol I kinda loved it

Who gives a shit if a subforum turns into /pol/tier

Just don't click the threads and read them if you don't like it.

It's really not that hard not to read shit you don't want to read, or unsubscribe from threads you think turned to shit

Lol /pol/

c'mon son, we have no moral high ground over /pol/
We used to. I can remember a time in which trying to pretend Donald Trump is a lolcow or constantly spouting off some shit from Breitbart was something we made fun of, rather than engaged in.

Because, much like tranny sperging, pronoun arguments, and furry shit, it's a fucking cancer that eats into the threads around it.
I'm fine with containment threads, the Salt Right threads and a few others are perfectly fine places to pretend we understand shit about politics or economics, but when it starts eating into the rest of the forum we have to ask if 24/7 discussions about your sophomoric understanding of the world's governments is really what we want to indulge as a group. If that's the general consensus, fine, let's do it, but some people like lolcow content, and come here for it.
I would argue that rather than turning this place into /pol/, you can just go to /pol/ to discuss this. I think most people come here for the cows.

RIP in peace Events & News you proved again the horrifying fact that weirdos that stalk crazy mongoloids were better sources of info than much of the world.

I liked Events and News and felt there were enough gold nuggets among the political sperging that made it worth browsing.

Null got rid of the negative ratings in events and deep thoughts because he wanted people to just say what they think. It was a great idea, and it worked. Granted, news isn't as lulzworthy as Phil, but there were some genuinely insightful, :informative: and brand-spanking new facts on there that I never knew before that always left me feeling both entertained and enlightened.
Same here. I like hearing points of view that aren't my own or that I haven't thought of. It's not something you see often on other websites .

Until whiny spergs ruined it because they couldn't handle people with opposing points of view in a discussion that wasn't just an echochamber. And that was on both "sides" of the fence. Even fucking more embarrassing is that they dragged disagreements into other parts of the forum like petty middle school girls.

Hell I might even be one of them and just lack self awareness myself so I can't talk.

Aww, I really liked the Events & News subforum. I went there a lot. I usually tried to steer clear of the political threads, though.

Just a suggestion, maybe there could be a "no politics" rule or even a politics subforum (within the Events & News subforum, that is) for containment? Or you could even just ban people who keep shitting up threads until they finally learn their lesson or go away.

Without the political sperging, it was a nice place.

I'm surprised by this forum's users knowledge about stuff too.

Can't we just have a civil war and whoever wins gets to rule over the politics forum?

Although I liked Events and News for the occasional fluff piece (science or more uplifting/positive shit), seeing how things work outside my country, and horror stories about pedos and dogfuckers getting their comeuppance, this past election has been so divisive and not in a fun way. I was hoping that the post-election landscape would be full of memes and entertaining shitposts but it's just brewing more pissed off people sperging at each other; to the point it's made E/N unbearable to walk into. It's easy to say "lol just don't click on threads you don't want to read" when the political ones are taking up like the first ten spots.

If E/N comes back, there should definitely be a separate place/containment for the politics. It's just a mess otherwise. I mean, we're not /pol/, and we're not Tumblr, and it should really stay that way.

I liked the meme where we'd post articles about autistics getting seriously abused by their parents and laugh at people who got upset.

OwO got an entire subforum deleted
