It's basically the lite beer version of weed. In my neck of the woods it goes from pretty high quality cartridges you can buy from CBD dispensaries that call their employees "cannabinoid specialists" to sketchy, probably bootleg, versions you can buy from Indian head shop guys that may or may not be toxic.

I've been smoking it a lot lately because walking around the corner and picking it up is easier and less of a pain then getting a delivery service or other weed dealer. One thing I always have and always will hate is interacting with dealers. They're flaky, they don't shut up, half the time they try to fucking smoke the weed I just bought from them...just getting those motherfuckers in the same room is a hassle. Never mind getting them to fucking leave. You have no idea how many times I've been told "meet me here" only for that motherfucker to fall asleep or decide he's going to go bang his girlfriend instead.

Anyway at least it's legal in my state now so in another few months when dispensaries start opening up I don't have to worry about this shit anymore. Also this is yuppie hipster ass NYC, so I'm gonna have access to all those weird ass weed products like weed infused penis lotion or vegan weed croissants. Weed craft beer, I'm sure there's gonna be weed craft beer. They put everything else in beer, that's the next step.
 
If you want to actually get high, smoke actual fucking weed. Goddamn posers.
 
I was given it under the guise of it being a less potent version of regular THC but personally I can't tell the difference. It may be a bit less strong when vaped or smoked, but when using it for edibles it's almost indistinguishable.

The carts anyway are definitely weaker. Granted it might be a consequence of my tolerance being astronomically high, but compared to regular weed it takes considerably more hits to get a real buzz going and it fades way quicker. Though I think people who say it's somehow not like weed are kidding themselves. It's weed, just shitty weed.

Don't get the gas station stuff. it's the wild west so folks are making it in their garage. lots of new small businesses. possible chemicals in your vapes that could be damaging.

reputable places are online more often than not but might sell near you. some brands i like are 3chi, skyhio, snapdragon, and spensary.

it's good shit. some say the high without the anxiety and paranoia. a focused high

this is what i'm into rn. tastes just like nerds rope.

I keep hearing about this shit but have no idea what it is. A smoke shop just opened Up and they were advertising it. We have legal medical weed where I am now but this wasn't a dispensary. Is it cheaper?
 
I've tried it, it doesn't make me as paranoid as weed does. Mostly if I'm having trouble sleeping. It comes in little cartridges that attach to a regular skinny vape pen.
 
FYI delta-8 and delta-9 both metabolize into the same end product when eaten, so not only does that explain the 1:1 high to THC but also why you are definitely failing the piss test that you’re hoping to pass.
Why else you’d touch it otherwise….

This is a hemp derived product, so no delta-9. Most of it is maybe 10-20% delta-8 tops anyway, as mislabeling is pretty much the standard in grey market stuff like this.

Nah its not like that. Been smoking it for months with no side effects, though im sure a lot of the carts probably have some sort of contaminant in them.

This really isn't anything like synthetic cannabinoids. The synthetic cannabinoids are full agonists of the cannabinoid receptors in the cannabinoid system in the brain, that is where the main issue comes from. Δ8 & Δ9 are both naturally occurring and are only partial agonists of the cannabinoid receptors. The toxicokinetics\toxicodynamics, as well as the pharmacodynamics\pharmacokinetics of Δ8 are well studied in humans. Δ8 only has about 1/2 the potency as Δ9 but is subjectively seen to be fairly similar in qualitative potency. Because of the difference in its potency relative to the cannabinoid receptors Δ8 can produce less adverse effects than Δ9 for some people (as mentioned above, some see see subjectively less anxiogenic (anxiety producing) adverse effects).

Overall, I would put the risk of Δ8, given the amount of study that has been done on it, on the same level as everyone's good friend Δ9 or possibly even lower given the difference in potency.
 
It just gives the the 'buzz' weed gives you without the head high that weed normally gives. Make sure that you get it from a trusted brand from a good vendor or headshop. I think the way to go with it is carts or waxes, the "weed" they sell is just hemp flower with Δ8 sprayed on. Should be as safe as Δ9 and you will fail drug tests that try to find any marijuana.
